What's new

The Church of Dante Exum

Yep. It can go farther than that, though. I know a guy who believes he has the Midas touch. He believes that everything good happens to him. Not only do his business deals go great, but he also thinks he gets the best parking spaces, the best waiters, has the best kids, etc. It goes on and on. From my vantage just as many things go wrong for this guy as the average Joe, but he doesn't seem to notice them. Every time something good happens, though, he's all over it. And the result is that he lives a life that nearly anyone would envy. He's got more money than he could ever spend, he's got a very happy and healthy family, he's had loads of adventures that most people wouldn't even think to dream of.

Meanwhile, I know another guy with almost the opposite outlook, and the weird thing is that his life is a mess. He couldn't pull his head out of the dirt to take advantage of an incredible opportunity if it bit him in the ***. Strange how that works.
The first guy must be Dr. Jones. But I wasn't aware you knew me. Mom, did you sign up as Joe Bagadonuts?

Yeah it works for him now which is good and its a cool trick, but it feels like he is doing it more to protect the ball rather than make a play.

He can break to the paint at will (yes against preseason defenses), and had only 5 turnovers in 83 minutes so far. I don't consider it a trick. I think he's making the most of what he can do. He seems to go easily in either direction. Tricks you can figure out. Vision, quickness and length isn't figured out as easily.

Sure I cannot say what society would be like but I can look up statistics that religious people give more to charity than not religious. You can not tell me secular society is more giving then religious founded.

That is a popular but untrue myth. It counts the money that religious folks give to their church as a charitable gift. Exclude churches, and secular people donate more.

Their are awesome and hideous secular people. There are awesome and hideous religious people. Zero correlation.

Religion created secular society.

Yeah, that was the hunter-gatherers. Then at some point the Greeks and their city-states, but I think that would have happened without pagan worship.

Regardless, the idea that society would not have formed without religion is weak.

I am liking what I see out of him so far. So far... He still seems hesitant. But it's like I have said many times here. It doesn't seem out of fear of contact. But more so fear of making mistakes. I don't know the guy personally. But something tells me he's a perfectionist. Doesn't have the confidence or the skills yet to take over, so plays in fear a lot of time.

Basically, don't wan to incur the wrath of posters by high jacking the thread with belief talk.

In re Exum, my biggest worry is his shooting off the dribble or perhaps spot up shooting too. I think he could be at least league average spot up shooter. Than will be important going forward if he can do that.

Oh. MY. GAWD.

You guys are morons. It's too bad. I've gotten three pages in, and all there is, is idiots trying to sound smart.

Go to the general discussion forum.

Gawd. This site used to be so good.

This site was so good. Now there's a bunch of guys calling others idiots, merely because of a difference of opinion. Great job idiot. (See I did it too)

nailed it absolutely. 100% spot on. Most insightful post of this thread.

How many players in NBA history do it over conventional face up crossovers?

He seems to do it as a crutch. Is the back to the basket doing anything? Or is it just his quick step and long strides? It might be a hindrance limiting his burst.

2nd most insightful post, i think he does it because he's worried about getting stripped due to not having the utmost confidence in his handle. Having said that it's working ok for him at the moment.
