I understand the standards for this, but last game, I've heard the LA commentator call Ingles "Rookie from Australia. 27 years old" and it sounded really wrong.
There should be an age limit to call player rookies. Because many of the players they call rookie actually have a lot more fundamental skills and know the game of basketball as a team game a lot more than many of the other players in the league. And more importantly, most of them are actually being brought in order to bring experience to the team in regards to shooting consistence and setting team plays that the coach wants to set.
I know this isn't the most important thing in the universe but it sounded lame and irritating so I wanted to share.
