Would the Jazz definitely have a better record if they wouldn't have completed the Devin Harris/Marvin Williams deal?

No ****. We lost Mo for 2 months. Harris would have been great to have during that stretch.

I think the Jazz would probably be about 5 games better. Definitely a trade the Jazz have regrets about I'm sure. Not to mention more time for Carrol.

We have Devon for 2 months when Mo is down, don't have to play Watson and Tinsley, and don't have Marvin.

The Devon trade was 100% a bad move for the Jazz. Nothing good came from it. Maybe Burks playing a little. Maybe.

Yes, Burks' minutes skyrocketed from 15.9 minutes last season to 17.9 minutes this season. That's definitely a big plus there.

Look at his minutes before 12/22. That is when Watson/Tinsley/Mo had injury problems. Look at his minutes after that. If Devon Harris is here, he doesn't play at all this year, because Harris would have played ahead of Burks. His average was 4 mins a game before those injuries. Had Harris been here, his average would have stayed there, if not been lower.

That's one trade I could have lived without.
Devon wasn't perfect but his contract would have been up. We probably wouldn't have had Hero ball Mo and Burks probably would have had more playing time as well as Carol.

Why does everybody assume we had to make the trade after Mo acquired. Mo was acquired before the trade. Mo is not a good PG, he's more of a combo guard. If we had not made the trade and kept Harris I think we would have been worse. It would have been less minutes for Hayward and Burks as Ty would have played a lot of minutes for Mo, Foye and Harris.
.
I think Harris is a better PG than Mo but not a better player. In the end I don't think the trade made that big of an impact on the final record. The real downside to that trade is we are stuck with Williams another year. But we already had so many players playing on their last year keeping Harris seemed like a bad decision at the time.

I disagree. The Jazz wouldn't have been able to afford both Mo Williams and Devin Harris.
I liked Harris, but the Jazz still need Marvin off the bench.
He isn't as bad as Jazzfans generally think, but he isn't as good as I thought he was going to be either.

i voted yes. but honestly devin is just as flaky as mo... they both have games where the just dont even show up to the game... we need consistancy at PG. even if the pg is just avarage. as long as they are consitantly avarge.

Harris' passing and defense was pretty similar to Mo, but I can't think of one game last year where Devin shot us out of ball games like Mo has this year. Devin I think may have made a 2-3 game difference and no Marvin next year would be nice.

yeah because Harris is slightly better than Tinsley/Watson
I'm considering that No Marvin=No Mo signing, and I still think we would be better off. More DMC, less hero, it may be a negative for Burks PT since that was due to the injury.

I will admit that Harris would not have gotten lots of love from fans and Mo gave hope for a better tomorrow. Unfortunately it was a false hope.

Devin Harris is just another good natured basketball player that Utah fans would adore, but he's not the winning basketball type.
