The Gordon Hayward Experiment...you know the drill

he needs a haircut. that long floppy hair is sapping his manhood or something. maybe if he just looked more fearsome he'd play more fearsome?

I love how he catches himself in the air with the ball and no where to pass it. You learn not to do that **** when you're 8. Wake the **** up Gordy Boy.

I have no evidence to back this up (that's never stopped anyone here, right?), but I have to question the kids passion for the game. He looks like he's somewhat 'sulkingly' going through the paces on the floor. Not like he's mad about anything but more that basketball isn't his #1 in life.

Multiple times against Cleveland he did the same thing people are bugged from last night, drove to the rack then kicked it out to a guy who A) shouldn't be shooting from distance or B) had a man right by him and in no way was "open". Sure the assists are great but if you're deathly afraid of shooting the ball and pass up shots at every opportunity, you're bound to get some. I honestly dont think the kid has the fire to reach his potential, based on what I'm seeing now. Hope I'm wrong.

I'm so sick of him being passive and casual about the game. I had high hopes for this kid after the end of last season and then he comes into this season acting like a rookie again.

Watching the game I thought he was far less aggressive than he should have been. He had a couple chances to get easier shots but instead faded from the basket and missed. He avoided contact like the plague as evidenced by his 0 ft attempts. He also blew a wide open layup when he could have dunked it and missed a 3 when he should have passed to a wide open raja on the baseline, among other things. Overall a poor performance, i'm sure he'll be pissed at himself when he looks at the film. A learning experience for a 2nd year player.

I think he's a chicken **** afraid to get hit. He'd fit right into a Utah Utes football practice.

Hayward is obviously struggling and the main problem is Ty is giving him too many minutes. When a young player gets too many minutes, they begin to struggle, they lose their confidence, then it takes a while to get their confidence back.

Hayward's shot has a fundamental flaw besides his slow release. He leans forward and kicks his head back. You watch Korver's shot, he lands where he begins and his head stays perfectly still. Hayward has too many moving parts to be a consistent shooter.

When he drives to the basket, he should shoot the pull-up jumper or learn a semi-hook in the lane. Often times he is right by the rim, completely open, and passes it like he never thought about shooting the ball. I really think his pull-up jumper like he hit at the end of the 76'er game could be his main shot.

He definitely is not a long-range shooter, his mid-range game is what he should be working on.

Yea, you want to be a triple threat at all times.
Pass, shoot, drive.
If you don't do one well, that hinders the others also.
This is true for everyone on the team, not just GH.
I like that he passes and sees the court, but he's got to score also.

YOU GD HYPOCRITES!!! Welcome to the party a little late. Did you'all just start watching the games. He is week minded just like all of you when you drink the koolaid of KOC $%it. He is at best AK but I doubt he will sniff AK jockstrap. So, take you little baby rep system and give all of yourselves a negative rep for being so blind and dumb.

He is having his sophomore year of college all over again.

His sophomore year he was asked to do more ball handling and play-making and his shooting suffered greatly.

Well, I hope he gets as good as AK, although they are very different players, I don't see the comparison, but AK was an allstar, wasn't he?

they are totally different players, not even close to being similar in their strengths or style, so it seems like an odd comparison to me

You know, CJ had a monster game at the end of his first year too. We have to accept that Hayward might not be what we all thought he was. Both CJ and Hayward were thought of as good passers and pure shooters when the Jazz drafted them. Larry insisted that CJ was a future star in the league. It's pretty clear now that CJ won't be, at least not on the Jazz anyhow. If Hayward becomes CJ, I wouldn't accept it as a success, but how are they different? Attitude? They both are kinda goofy cheerful players, and lately hasn't it been said that Hayward is lacking the nasty? Isn't that CJ's problem? Mentally not focused?

Hayward better get his game together or he's going to get passed up by Howard, which really bites for the rebuilding process.

The difference between Cj and Hayward, CJ makes bad decisions even in his best games, when Hayward plays bad and cant make any buckets, he still make couple of assists and help the team. I think Hayward is incomparably better player

Lets take both players what are the pluses of AK then Hayward. They aren't the same player obviously but I would think you would put defense high on both lists, being a creator, and a good passer. Where do you see they differ. Hayward isn't there but for all the hate AK gets Hayward is like AK jr and not even as good as AK. So, up until now where was the hate??? All I have seen is rave reviews of KOC for taking Hayward. I'm not antiHayward I just don't like where he got drafted and this overwhelming expectations for him he is going to be a great role player not someone to build a franchise around.

I want to go on record here.

You people are fools. All you need to do is stop, breathe, and realize that you're agreeing with KOC BEGONE. All of this psycho-analyzing is getting to be a bit much. Gordon will be fine. He has the tools and the fire, and will be one of the greatest Jazz players (not statistically, but in the mind of the fans) in recent memory. To compare him to Chucker is really making me want to vomit. CJ is not a good basketball player, plain and simple. Sure, he's good enough to play in the NBA, but after 7 years, it's obvious that he's not a real contributor.

I wish I could sticky this post so at the end of the season, you can all rep me for being the voice of reason among the din of stupidity.

Love,

Trout.
