The Growing Thirst for Cruelty

I consume a lot of content involving police interactions and lately I've been watching a lot of court cam videos. I grew up wanting to be a criminal defense attorney, so that's where my heart lies, and that's why I'm fascinated with this kind of content. A big part of the problem with this ICE **** is that they are avoiding due process... somehow.

Just randomly I'm going to put a court cam video here. I like this channel, so if this is interesting this is a channel that doesn't waste a lot of your time.

This is a probable cause hearing that basically determines if there is a justified reason to hold this person or try them. The bar is low. If a felony a grand jury indictment is required, but for misdemeanors this is the process. This judge is a character and if I was facing a minor crime I would be thrilled if this were my judge. He holds the police and the DA to a higher standard than I think most do.

I've seen this guys stuff he's pretty funny. I'm surprised that guy was left off with no PC, at the end of the day he did have a gun on him, I can get my head around civilians carrying firearms.

If the reason to stop you was not justified then anything they find after the stop is "fruit from the poisonous tree" and cannot be considered.

The main way around this is if the suspect consents to a search. A consent to search cures all. You cannot argue probable cause if you agree to be searched.

This is why, innocent or guilty, never agree to a search. You lose so much legally when you consent to be searched. It is a straight up dumb move. Always a dumb move. Never consent to be searched. If they have a valid reason to search they can easily get a warrant. But you cannot challenge any of it if you consent.

My childhood dream was to be a criminal defense attorney. I regret not accomplishing that goal. I think I might have actually been good at it, and I think I might have cared about what I did. I'm not emotionally connected to the work I do now. I don't really care about it. But I think if I was a criminal defense lawyer I would care and that I would fight for my clients.

I probably should have been a teacher. Or something to do with dogs (don't really know a specific job though)

Last night I took my daughter to the park and saw 2 of the elementary kids there and it filled me up to see them. Can't wait for school to start back up so I can see all the kids again.

To add to this. My daughter and the 2 other kids wanted me to play tag with them. My daughter is going into 4th grade, one of the other kids is going into 5th and the other is going into 2nd.
I said yes despite the fact that my left knee has been bothering me for a few months now.

At one point the 5th grader was chasing me and I have always been a pretty good athlete and have always been a runner so I decided to show them what I could do and decided to go full speed. (I barely pulled away from the kid chasing me lol. I'm getting way too old way too fast)
I felt fine walking home last night and went to bed feeling fine.
Woke up this morning and I'm limping now. I need to stop racing kids. Or get into better shape and get healthier.

I did start exercising and dieting a little about a week ago. Hopefully I can stick with it. I'm hoping to get down to about 190. Currently about 200.

This is just a traffic court. Judge Caprio has been just like this since he sat on the bench, some 40 years ago. . Lots of people are familiar with the show that was created around his court, “Caught in Providence”. He was Chief Justice of the Providence, RI Municipal Court. It does me proud to see a Rhode Island judge praised, the world over, his Facebook page filled with comments from all over the globe. He’s battling cancer at the moment, doing well, retired after 40 years on the bench, so the show ended when he retired. Compassion always ruled the day when Judge Caprio was on the bench….

These ICE chuds are not cops. Some are actual agents, many ex-military. Most have been recruited over the last 4 years, many were at J6 and pardoned too. This is an army they’ve built over the years and they’re waiting for the green light to kill immigrants, it’s why they signed up. Many didn’t get to kill anyone in the military, so this is their chance for blood.

100%. Trump's personal military under guise as a government force. Fostering racism and keeping Trump in power is killing two birds with one stone. I hope our military is ready to mow these mother****ers down if it comes to it but not holding my breath. If The Rapist lives long enough he will very possibly be President through 2028 and beyond. Torture.

Debumanizing human beings rubs off.

Trump supporters report enjoying the pain of others, lacking empathy and having higher levels of psychopathy, manipulativeness, callousness, and narcissism, according to a new psychological study based on two large surveys of U.S. adults.

The Journal of Research in Personality reportedthat psychopathic traits and malevolent disposition predicted an increase in conservative political ideology, whereas a benevolent disposition predicted decreased conservative ideology, which is to sway more liberal ideology.

Conservative ideology was represented “by symbolic and operational ideology and positive view of Trump.”

The study found “psychopathic traits and malevolent disposition predicted increased conservative political ideology,” whereas “Benevolent disposition predicted decreased conservative ideology--i.e., more liberal ideology”.

It was really quite simple and rather discouraging: “Those viewing Trump favorably reported elevated malevolent and reduced benevolent dispositions, and less empathy.”

This study was specifically focused on support for Trump, as previous studies have already established an affinity between conservative ideology and authoritarianism. They note that not every conservative is an authoritarian, and I would add that anyone who is a principled, small government conservative rather than the predominance of today’s conservatives as reactionary, anti-rights for others conservatives who enjoy the pain of others would naturally not support executive power as displayed by an authoritarian. (Although history shows us that conservatives are drawn over and over again to strongmen populists types, but a similar argument could be made of extremists on the left.)

Conservatives have been shown to be drawn psychologically to social dominance orientation and right-wing authoritarianism in previous studies, but Trump has “radically reshaped” the U.S. conservatives to such an extent that he has moved the Republican Party toward authoritarianism.

This is to say, it’s not your imagination. Watching conservatives explain that they voted for Trump because he promised to inflict pain on a group of people the conservative dislikes has been exceptionally disconcerting for a reason: This is a sign that a large number of people are expressing malevolent traits as seen in psychopathy, and they’ve been doing it en masse for almost a decade now.

Below is a screen grab of a protester showing a photo of Donald Trump with Jeffrey Epstein during a 2018 Trump rally in Duluth, Minnesota, leading to Trump sneering at the protester, “Go home to your mom, darling” as he has security throw the man out. The crowd, that supposedly cares about the Epstein Files, boos the man who was trying to warn them.

And so the authors set about to examine “whether dispositions reflecting malevolent (aversive) features and the relative absence of benevolent (affiliative) features and empathy were associated with conservative ideology and views of Trump.”

They noted that like Trump (Hyatt et al., 2018, Nai et al., 2019), “autocrats manifest socially aversive personality, including malevolent traits in the Dark Triad: narcissism, psychopathy, and Machiavellianism (Nai & Toros, 2020).

This is to say: It’s not your imagination. We live among these people and that is rightfully disturbing.

The violence Trump engenders against his perceived enemies is more proof of his dark influence on society and on his followers, and the authors note psychopathy has a significant link to violence and aggression.

The study:

Highlights

  • Conservative political ideology represented by symbolic and operational ideology and positive view of Trump

  • Psychopathic traits and malevolent disposition predicted increased conservative political ideology

  • Benevolent disposition predicted decreased conservative ideology--i.e., more liberal ideology

  • Those viewing Trump favorably reported elevated malevolent and reduced benevolent dispositions, and less empathy

My neighborhood restaurant has been closed for weeks. They’re afraid of a raid. They came to the US because it was too violent in their country and they were being hunted. My neighbors, all of us, are scared.

Our racists have power and are targeting brown people. They’ve built concentration camps, coming to a suburb near you btw, housing people without due process. This is only the beginning too. Billions are being spent right now to expand operations and build more camps. More targeted propaganda imagery incoming as well. Your mental state will be further pushed to the edge. Enjoy.
