In more reaction against el presidente T.Rump, Seth Curry and St Pauli have criticised the Under Armour CEO for supporting T.Rump.

St Pauli also criticised their own fans after they unveiled a banner on Sunday mocking the fire bombing of Dresden at a home match against Dynamo Dresden. Dynamo have a large number of Neo Nazi fans, I was at St Pauli's away game in Dresden late last year and there were numbers of organised skinhead Dresden supporters getting into it with St Pauli Ultras.

Honestly I wouldn't be against an amicable divorce but California isn't a well-defined thing. The borders of the area that it claims are silly. Extended those borders to the Continental Divide and you have something that would be stable and prosperous.California is at its most ambitious the most important and prominent area of a larger western region.

For that to happen would take a national realization that our country has become too big for democracy. There's too much national pride for that to happen.

Presidency should be dissolved. The responsibilities and powers of the office should be divided amongst existing and new institutions. We have allowed too much power to be concentrated in the hands of one person. Frankly it's just too dangerous.

I dont disagree that the Presidents power has been growing and that is a problem. I think the solution is to cut back greatly on that power and re-establish balance. Eliminating one branch would give more power to the other branches which I also think would be problematic. I also think having a face and a person as president is helpful in a lot of situations and right or wrong is easier to hold accountable.

I also doubt we are going to re-write the constitution enough to eliminate the Executive Branch and the President but cutting back on his power we can do. I also think we should cut back all of the governments power though. Fear mongering from our leaders has let this country give all branches and levels of government too much power.

We are lucky to this point that the other branches of government have been able to restrain the presidency to the degree they have.

Here's a thought.
We could create two new offices within the executive branch that were equal to the president. We could designate unique powers to each of the offices. Let's say we give one the power of the pen and the rights to sign or veto legislation. Another could serve as Commander in Chief and have power over the state department. The Third could be the head of domestic agencies such as the FBI, doj, Forest Service Etc. They can serve six-year terms so that one of the three offices is up for election every two years.
It isn't perfect but something like that I think would be a step in the right direction.

I think the power of the President has generally been okay during the lifespan of the USA except in times of war and more recently presidents have abused that concept. But I am not opposed to the idea you proposed but I would be very surprised if that ever gained enough traction to even get voted on. Major changes like that seem unlikely to me any time soon, but who knows.

I love the whole "California would collapse if they broke off" argument. Doesn't California have the sixth largest GDP in the world?

Do we not forget that California pays a larger % of the federal taxes than most states? Then probably most states COMBINED?

What would happen to states like Utah, who receives the highest amount of federal aid per person, if California left? California leaving the US would be devastating to our economy.

Instead of paying taxes to the federal government, Californians would keep that money in the state. Yes California expects those tax dollars would increase California's budget by "hundreds of billions of dollars," seeing that the state has paid more in federal taxes than it has received in federal payouts (in the amount of double-digit billions) every year since 1995.

The Golden State's ranches and farms raked in $47 billion in crop cash receipts in 2015. It produces over a third of the country's vegetables and two-thirds of fruits and nuts, making California's agriculture industry the largest in the nation.

Republicans, especially Utahns, need to get off their high horses when it comes to this. A lot of what we have is due to California.

But, that's the Republican way, right? Take aid, keep it quiet, then shout on the rooftops about how hard you worked and how you earned it all yourself and if everyone worked as hard as you, they could have what you have.

It's kind of sad how the shape of Utah was made. They basically cut out any decent resources and gave them to neighboring states. Lol.
