So I believe the winners of the G League tournament each get $100k. A two-way contract is worth up to $200k. Jazz have called Brantley up and he’s with the Jazz now. If the Stars win, I’m assuming he doesn’t get the $100k. All for what will likely equate to a DNP.

NBA life is hard.
I know this is said in jest, but from his current position it does suck. To this point he’s put all his eggs in this basket, with no guarantee of a payoff. He certainly could go overseas and grind out good income (comparatively speaking). But there’s no guarantee he ends up with an NBA contract that makes missing this opportunity forgettable. Sure, he may likely hit some level of pay day, but he hasn’t gotten paid yet. And the days that he’s played with the Jazz, he’s probably been getting the equivalent of a $50-70k salary, and to be called up for a weekend, to not play, and to miss out on $100k, that’s not small potatoes.

Lmao, you think they each get 100k? This is borderline adorable.

It's 100K for the whole team, at least the players if not more. I'm sure he would get some since he is on the team.

I do hope they pay him given the amount of time he's spent with the team.

I work the equivalent of 1.5 times a normal hourly work week (60 hours or so per week) and i make mid-6-figures. And it took me decades in my career to get there. I'm shedding exactly 0 tears over a kid not doubling his 6-figure salary for playing a game.

I'm not discounting what you do by saying this, but I'm sure he put in a lot of time and work to get to where he is too.
