Yeah, and trading our best asset 1.5 years before his contract is up in a VERY risky deal will definitely get us to a championship faster. You're pathetic.

This post proves my point. We just needed "star talent" to be a contender. Which star? Like I asked before, be specific.
And how do we get this star? Utah isn't exactly a Mecca of tourism and nightclubs. Especially if this star is an African American.
So which star?
And how do we get him? We aren't exactly under the cap... In fact, we were going to pay a lot in luxury tax.
It's too easy to bash KOC for not getting Deron "star talent" in the next few years. But KOC cannot work like that. He actually needs to you know, take into consideration a specific player (not just talent), the salary of that player, the other team's salary cap situation, our own, whether the player will actually come and play for us, etc.
This isn't NBA 2k11 when you can just override a trade that allows us to trade Ronnie Price for Lebron James.
So please, I ask once more, who should KOC traded and for whom? Who should KOC signed? How would KOC constructed a contender in the next 2 years? Be specific.
Plus, everyone knows he was gonna bail and hold the team hostage next year demanding for a trade.
The question is too open-ended (and silly). I know it is difficult to get star players in Utah and that's what proves MY point. When you have one, you don't let him go unless you get another in return. No one here is privy to all the information KOC has. IMO, we've let several players go that we shouldn't have. DWill is just the worst blunder of all.
I don't know that, and neither do you. One of things I used to like about the Jazz organization is that they give players the benefit of a doubt. A year and a half was plenty of time to work something out and the franchise has let us all down with poor management.
Deron didn't get a championship with talent around him. What says he'll ever be capable of leading a team to a championship? Plus, everyone knows he was gonna bail and hold the team hostage next year demanding for a trade.
You are probably referring to players who left as free agents. We did want to keep pretty much all of them including Matthews and Boozer, but got outbid. Now with Boozer we did get the trade exception which helped us to get Jefferson keep in mind. Not matching Matthews helped us to get Bell. Ok, that is a bad example but hard to keep all your free agents is the bottom line.
Jazz FO not living in fantasy land like Cleveland's or Toronto's. Yes, there was a 25% he would have signed an extension, but again have we been championship material with him. Now the one year we played LA well in the playoffs was the closest, but it has been downhill since then
