What's new

The Jazz have acquired the 13th pick and select Donovan Mitchell

Moved up for undersized and offensively limited. OK. Yawn I guess?

Undersized, inconsistent shooting the ball. Im glad we dumped Lyles but not overly thrilled about this guy. Mabye he can make up for it with athleticism so it gives me some hope, but yeah kind of mixed on the pick

This is one of the single best days for me as a Jazz fan. #*%^ing LOVE this kid. Now let's plan that parade route.

Wow, talk about a polarising pick.

There are like 4 people complaining about it. And they all (with the Exception of Prodigy) have been very pessimistic all season.

Bull **** I have been anything but pessimistic all season

This offseason I am very negative, starting tonight (I was previously hopeful). I think that there is good reason to be negative. It would be awesome to get a fairytale ending but this is shaping up to be a tragedy.

You've got to stop watching Red Dwarf, you're turning into Holly.

What the.. You realize we moved up from 24 to 13 in possibly the best draft in a decade by adding Lyles to the deal.

A lot of us were willing to trade 24 and Hood for Mitchell.

I see this as a total coup. Nobody has made more progress from their freshman to their sophomore season and many thought he would wind up in the lottery range. Keith Smart with hops and a better wingspan that's known as much for his defense as his offense, and he's a combo guard, what's not to like. Big thanks to Denver (all the best to Lyles) and to Dallas for taking Smith.

Really feel like DL and Quin love the fact that he's a defense first guy who is dynamic offensively (something Exum is sorely lacking).

This kid's built like a tank. Got enough string beans on this team need an enforcer. Gotta love the fact that he took a swipe at Grayson Allen. Forget "Judas" Hill, we score Beverly this team will be ready to ball with anybody.

I haven't seen anywhere that he is a lockdown defender. If he is despite his size then it's great.
I am not trying to **** on him at all. I was high on Trey Burke before we dumped 14 and 21 picks for him and don't want to get burnt again so when I see "questionable shot selection" in the scouting report I am genuinely unimpressed.
Trey lacked NBA size, speed, length, and athleticism.

DM has the length, athleticism and doesn't have the ego Trey had. DM is coming into the situation knowing that he will need to compete and that he's a role player.

Trey thought he was the best player on the team......
