Yep. And I think Portland did a great job of hiding their interest in Yang because it seemed to be the biggest surprise for most people - after the Jazz picked Ace.

Yang with 16-4-3 and two 3s made. He would have been perfect for the Jazz given how good Nurkic has looked at times with his playmaking
I'm afraid Ace has benefited the most from Nukic's playmaking.

With how they are using Nurkic, I am sure that they had Yang on a short list at 21/18. As you say, he would have been a seamless fit in this offense. With the front office being lukewarm on Kessler, it seems like they want to have a long term playmaking center type. I haven't looked at the next draft but if there are guys like that, I expect the front office to target them.
