The Jazz NEED another Derek Fisher

The 05-06 Jazz remind me a lot of this years group.. they were ravaged by injury, had terrible PG play for most of the year, but almost snuck into the playoffs. They were 41-41. I know he is one of the most hated figures in Utah, but trading for Derek Fisher that offseason was key for the development of that group. I don't think that it was coincidence that the 06-07 team, that went to the WCF, started making big time plays in crunch time after he arrived. Obviously acquiring players like Millsap that same offseason helped, but I think that Fisher's leadership had a big-time impact on that team. Who could the Jazz get this offseason, who has championship experience, that would have a similar impact? I'm thinking Trevor Ariza, but no other names really come to mind.

A Derek Fisher who doesn't lie would be a great asset to this team.

I think Fisher's veteran presence helped, but the 06-07 team was also far more talented than the current Jazz squad. We had FIVE players that either were or would become all-stars on that team (D-will, Booze, Okur, AK, Millsap). Deron Williams and Mehmet Okur were always clutch and made plays in crunch time. Our current team has no all-stars and nobody reliable in crunch time.

That's a contradiction in terms.

In what terms? Do you mean that only a liar of Derek Fisher's caliber would have the talent level of Derek Fisher? I don't know you but I will believe in a better world.

I don't think it's fair to say that nobody on our team will become an All-Star, there are multiple players who have that type of potential. Hayward is easily an all star this year if the Jazz would've had a better record

Maybe Patty Mills can be that guy - veteran with a ton of playoff experience.

He's a UFA after next season. Can be Exum's mate after Ingles gets jettisoned out of Utah.

The Derek Fisher in this year's free agent class is easily Pau Gasol. Easily. He would bring a veteran presence, championship pedigree, international flare, winning atritude, and more to the young team.

He doesn't play a position of need, but he is the type of player that would bring the things dfish (liarliar) brought to the table.

Burks, lyles, mack as a bench are better than 25% of the league. If you go to a 8 man rotation for the playoffs, (which most teams do) you would have a mediocre bench. Mediocre, not "***" as you mention. Do you watch NBA? Do you just watch the Jazz or are you aware the NBA has more teams than the Jazz, Lakers, etc...
