What's new

The Jazz need to get a starting stretch 5.

This thread became about Channing Frye. Throw in Spencer Hawes or Jason Smith for all I care but we need a big man who can stretch the floor to play with Favors. Plain and simple. As of now Kanter is not ready and he sucks balls when he starts.

I would rather just roll with 21 year old kanter than frye, hawes, or smith.

We aint competing for championships anytime soon so lets develop our young promising cheap guy that we already have signed to our roster.

I do think we should extend kanters range though

If you're just saying the Jazz need a big who can stretch the floor, that's fine. Playing with either Frye or Hawes, however, Favors would be the 5 (not that these position definitions are terribly meaningful). He's much stronger AND a much better rim protector than either of those two.

Also, can you explain what defensive rating is and why it's a good measure of defensive ability?

I still don't love Favors as our center. But getting Kanter to start hitting some threes would help.

The Jazz need to get the best players possible in their effort to build the best team.

This thread is dumb.

Spencer Hawes is a player i was particularly high on in the 07' draft, so im kind of biased, but id consider him. I wonder about the contract he will be asking for though, anything over 6-7mil makes me nervous. Id rather give Greg Monroe the max than pay him 30mil over 3 years

Favors and Monroe as the starting front court is interesting to me

Channing Frye should not be considered on health concerns alone. see Cuttino Mobley

Are you on drugs? Hawes is 7'1.

This is the stat sheet I like for defense:
