What's new

The Jazz target in the offseason.

You guys know Batum will get mega money right? Like 20 M a year. He won't be coming off the bench for anyone.

I do wonder if we could get Rudy Gay on the cheap. After playing for the kings a sixth man role in Utah may look pretty sweet. Would play 3&4 get 30 minutes a night and would destroy bench dudes.

I like the gay idea. Batum isn't gonna sit on the bench.

Bakethatmu****incake?

We are going to have like 13 guys under contract (though some of Withey/CJ will be non-guaranteed) plus our 1st round draft pick (and maybe 2nd round draft pick? Which we have multiple of). So if we sign our 1st rounder and one of our 2nd rounders, we won't even have room for a FA.

"We had some really big offseason additions guys. Getting Alec and Dante back, we feel like we signed the top two free agents on the market. Really excited about the improvement they're gonna make to our team."

I'd go after Harrison Barnes. He's going to make a major jump once he gets away from the Warriors.

Ugh. No.

Why would he break out? There isn't a better place for him! He can't create his own shot, he gets high % looks bc of Curry and Thompson. He's basically Marvin Williams. Fringe starter, good backup. He ain't worth what he's gonna get paid.

If by glue guy, you mean glued to the bench, then yes, Ingles can stay.

The problem the Jazz need to think about is they have 3 guys who have had repeated and even chronic injury problems in Favors, Burks and Hood. And add in Hayward ... missing significant time

Hayward has played in 90%+ of games for his career. He's actually pretty reliable and durable

He was hobbled coming down the stretch last year and has had plantar fasciitis this season. That's a chronic problem that will probably keep flaring up. Need depth to cover any missed games. Combine that also with Hood and a 4th decent wing would likely get quite a bit of playing time. And, of course, there's the risk of Hayward opting out and leaving. Jazz have Hood/Burks to cover the 2, but no other big SF. Sorry, I just don't believe Ingles is good enough.

"They have the money"

If Jazz spend on Batum, they don't sign hayward, favors or rudy. I'm sure Lindsay is thinking strategically -- beyond the cap space available next year.

How many games has Hayward missed due to plantar fasciitis?? 1 damn game. My god you're a drama queen. I had plantar fasciitis years ago. It lingered for several months but didn't affect me much. Once I healed it hasn't come back. Off season is almost here dude!

Why in the hell do we need to spend big money on a free agent? Our team is set. Let's remember we have a few picks this year. Alec hasn't played and Exum is coming back, and the Jazz traded for Mack. There isn't room for a high profile free agent. Let's hold money for our own free agents.
