the no headband thang..

speakin of nazis, do u think this policy could be a bit racialist? not full-on, but just a bit? headbands are genrally more popular in the colored community, bein "swag" and what not. and utah does has a certain 'repuatation' wink wink. im not sayin it's racialism, i'm just askin what yall think.

swag is lame.
colored people ussually do stupid stuff. so that most colloreds use headbands mean it is stupid. and no i'm not racist.
listen to bill cosby, he is also a shamed of the black comunity

HeavenHarris, Wondering just how well you really know SLC and environs? I believe i remember reading you say that you have been here at least once, but how much time did you spend here and where did you spend it. Utah does have that wink, wink reputation. But it's mostly people from somewhere else who have this view. Certainly we don't have as many black people living here as some other places (also more than some other places). Sadly, i have to agree with your questioning Jazz head band ban. Jazz management, they see it as catering to their fan base i am sure, but i am just as sure that fans could care less about rather or not their players wear head bands.

Why Styrone wont allow the bandz, but the team lets him wear one in this photo,,,

....personally, I have no problem whatsoever with guys wearing headbands! I think the first one was "Slick Watts" or may Wilt the Stilt.....and in Wilt's case, there wasn't a feminine bone in his body! It just keeps the sweat from getting in your eyes, right? So what's the big deal!???

Management never said the headband ban is to "cater to the fanbase." Sloan said it was a team thing, either all wore them or none did. The team voted and it was no headbands. Had the majority of the team wanted them then for the last 20 years the Jazz would have been known as the only team that always wore headbands. It was a uniform issue in the strictest military sense. All or nothing. It has now become a tradition of sorts.
