Not only that... Likely used them as leverage like FAs use the Sacramento Kings. JJ and Hurley are both weird candidates imo. Hurley made more sense for the post Lebron era at least.

The fact that you are the "best" player on the team with best record couldn't even put you in top 3 for the MVP race basically tells everything we need to know. On any other team Tatum is just an average all-star. Advance metrics suggested exactly the same thing. This Boston team is the closest thing to the 2004 Pistons.

Right player at the wrong time. Should've went straight for the Pelicans Jrue instead of Conley in 2019/20.

Yet one could argue that he has been the 3rd or 4th best player in his own team in these finals thus far.

Which just show that for winning a championship, a star is not enough but need a cpl of good players around. Lots of team dothe same mistake, spending all theur money on 2 stars players and fill the roster with cheap players and are unable to win. Boston is huge this year, they are 2 stars players but also 4 or 5 really good guys.
