The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

I've watched a little bit of preseason to get a first look at the rookies. Unfortunately a lot of guys haven't played because of injuries.

- Cooper looked really good. He already looks like he belongs and is going to help win games.
- V.J. has had moments, but looks like a typical rookie.
- Kon was very good offensively, but not great defensively
- Fears was mostly bad.
- CMB was very good defensively, but can't make an open jumper (reports are that he's had a very good camp)
- Coward looks long, but looked a little lost
- Didn't see Carter Bryant
- Didn't see Beringer
- Traore looked pretty good, but wasn't amazing.
- Asa looked ok, but didn't do much.
- Saraf looked ok.
- I didn't see Jace
- McNeeley looked really out of place

Probably a lot of confirmation bias here, as this was about what I expected from everyone.

Some updates:

- Ace is awesome
- Kas looks like he is going to prove his doubters wrong (still can't hit a catch and shoot 3 though)
- Hugo Gonzales looks like a nice role player
- CMB had 12/7/6/2blocks. He actually hit a 3 as well. He might be the next 5x5 guy.
- Nique looked ok
- Didn't see Yang
- My guy Javon Small wasn't great, but was also going against Derrick White

Insane that Deni came off the bench for the first pre-season game.

Sexton has 12 points in 6 minutes tonight lol. 4-5 from the field and 2-3 from three.

Looked at the Brooklyn box score from last night to see how Demin did and saw he didn't play.
He is out with plantar fasciitis he has had since summer league.
Plantar fasciitis is a bitch.
I had it about 3 years ago for like 8 months and tried everything there is to get rid of it.
Then I got it last September and had it for like 8 months again and finally got rid of it in April after getting an injection in my heel.
Now I have plantar fasciitis again and have had it for about a month now. I do all kinds of stretches and strength exercises all day and I see a physical therapist. I wear compression socks, bought new shoes, bought special shoe inserts, I wear foot splint at night, I bought these weird socks that make your toes splay out that I wear when I'm watching TV, I ice it, I have dry needling done on my calves (just had a session yesterday),....... Nothing seems to work.
I have another injection scheduled for the first week in December because I'm going to hike The Wave in southern Utah in December. I'm hoping I can get it under control before then because I have read that the injection lose effectiveness over time and actually deteriorate tissue and make it worse if I continually get the injections.
I remember Clarkson being out for quite a while last season with plantar fasciitis.
It's such a bitch of an injury. No one knows how to treat it affectively. What works for one person doesn't work for another person and often nothing every seems to work. I read on Reddit about people having it for years.

I started dieting yesterday in the hopes that losing a few pounds will help. I'm 6 foot 3 and 197 lbs and in really good health other than the plantar fasciitis so I don't really need to diet but Im desperate and will try anything so I'm hoping I can get down to 190 or so and see if it helps at all.

Fishonjazz, I hope you are feeling better soon.

Agreed, but still amazing. One of the aspects that is incredible with this shot is that the ball had to avoid hitting the shot clock or back board or anything or it would have been out of bounds.
Ya it is probably the most amazing shot made in multiple years
