The Office

The best season was the second season...it has gone downhill ever since, this past season was getting good when Michael was starting and eventually leaving...after he left the episodes sucked. They should just end it.

Damn, I thought Gervais was the clear pick until he did a very "non David Brent" interview thing. Oh well, if he keeps pumping out solid Karl Pilkington material I'll be happy

Seriously, it's time everyone realizes that this show has sucked since season 4. Season 3 was not the best but it had a lot of good moments. The writers clearly ran out of ideas at the end of S3 and every season after that was the same theme... someone is leaving the office...someone is getting promoted...someone is going back to their old job...jim and pam, jim and pam...bla bla bla. Uninspired crap.

I, personally, have always loved the show. As with any show that you've invested seven years of your life to, you grow a familiarization and almost kind of bond to the characters that allows you to appreciate what the character brings through humor, dialogue, and their relationships. That being said, season 5 was hit or miss (Niagra is one of my favorite episodes to date), season 6 was pretty awful, and season 7 started off pretty slowly but I think has really picked up steam with all that's been going on over the last 10 or so episodes. As for everything being terrible after season 2, I disagree completely. Season 2 is my single favorite season of any television series out there, even though The Office isn't my favorite show. Seasons 3 and 4 definitely weren't as good, but that doesn't mean they were horrible. There's all of the same Michael and Dwight humor, Jim and Pam chase, and secondary character focus that there is in seasons 1 and 2 and much more, there's just some new characters added in. I will say that since Jim and Pam got married the show doesn't have the same affect on me, but they really gave the show a new spark when the news that Steve Carrell was leaving came out. All of this aside, I do think it's about time to end the show. Give me another full season and maybe a shortened season after that to give me my fill, then end it on a high note so it can keep its legacy (without going the Simpsons route) and I will consider myself satisfied.

I had a hard time getting through last season and when this season started with that music video done to "Nobody but Me", I stopped the episode, deleted it, and removed it from my season pass on the DVR. The Michael Scott character was unbearable. A little went a long way and there was far too much of him. It had a good run, but it's time to put it down.

Well I was thinking about watching it, I never have, but now I am having second thoughts. Seems the consensus is I should watch through season 3 and that's it.
