My next car is a Tesla.

It's one of the safest and most well-constructed cars to ever hit the market, which explains the unprecedented amount of acclaim and the huge number of awards. The Tesla is an amazing achievement in engineering, and I wouldn't base my opinion on an out of context Youtube video.

Absolutely beautiful car. Aren't the 240s notorious for impaling drivers if you get into head-on collisions though?

The 240 is nicer than the 280-- but at least the 280 is quite nice in its own right, and doesn't have that murderous-reputation :)

EDIT: Sold this for a ****ing Escort?!?!

I would love to have a Tesla, just cannot justify the money when considerably cheaper alternatives with competitive fuel efficiency exist. And as a lux auto alone it just doesn't do it for me. Now if the price came down to the 40k range then maybe.

They are planning a much cheaper car in 2014. Model S will eventually come down in price as well.

Ok so about 8 years ago I almost bought another 240 Z. I drove it and it was sweet. The guy had done some real work to it, modernized some things, like recaro seats and such, great stereo. But the frosting was what he did to the engine. Totally rebuilt stock, with a blower and other tweaks. He was outputting over 300 horsies, and the torque was nuts. It was almost hard to get started from a standing stop since the tires would just peel loose with that much power, but once they grabbed wow did it go. So much fun. Instead I spent the money on a new used SUV for my wife's daycare at the time. Yay.
