What's new

The official Lakers_Slapper, game thread predictions VS. The Lakers.

Here's a gif of that moment

By far the best gif I have seen ripped from pro sports for a long time. And as the best Coach Gif, already Hall of Famer in the world of Gif's.

This will stay in the internet for eternity. Book it.

He must be really scary of a coach for the players not to listen to a word he says after the previous one.

Let's organize some small (just the awesome posters) get togethers to watch a few games this year. Low cost. Causal. No pressure.

I'm always down for that

Sometimes I think I am always the Blacksheep of jazz fans. I really do not get the trade kanter for a 2nd round pick or anyone that breathes Montra. Last night kanter had 8 points and 10 rebounds on 50 percent shooting at halftime. Moreover I see real improvement in his passing. People are quick to say his defense is bad but he has guarded Aldrich and BG two of the beat power forwards in the league. I see real effort on his part on defense. Does he need to improve his defense yes they all do but kanter has done nothing for people to say lets trade him.

I do get that gobert is playing great. That doesn't mean you trade kanter for a bag of peanuts and some magic beans.
Depends on how much we will have to pay kanter

I think it's early to shop Kanter. He wasn't having too bad of a game today actually. He almost had double double by halftime. Lets see how he performs in the first 20-30 games before we decide we don't want him.
Or before we know how much we can get back for him. Jazz bought high, and they should try to sell high. This team still needs a #1 option. That should be the ultimate goal. The better Kanter does to start the season, the better return the Jazz can get for him if they decide to move. Simple as that. I like the guy a lot, but his injuries and defense concern me. I'd rather try to package him for an All Star than match a max contract at this point. I doubt he takes less than Hawyard was willing to the year before and I think that he'll do well enough this year to force the Jazz to make a hard decision next offseason. Maybe I'm wrong. I hope I am. I hope he plays great and has an obvious spot on this team moving forward. If that's not the case, then I hope they flip him for a bonafide All Star (hopefully a relatively young one) that they can build around.

Has there ever been a more enjoyable preseason?

I probably watched 5 games last year, and even at that there was a lot of fast forward (porno-style) action going on.

I have watched two preseason games in-full and enjoyed every minute of it.

I have no idea how well this team will perform this year, but I know I want to watch!

The only other fun preseason like this was the first non John and Karl season.

Kanter must be one of the worst bigmen to defend the high post. I mean if your matchup is Boozer, you kinda oughtta know that he will shoot it. What the hell are you doing watching him do his thing? He obviously had done his homework because he tried to contest the 1st 3 attempt by Enes from the right corner. I am shaking my head to you Enes. A player that doesn't play defense is a player that should be traded.

That being said, Kanter performed better than the previous games against Lakers. He actually contributed. Cleaned up offensive boards and put up some score. On defense there were only 2 or 3 positions he played good defense. His shooting sucked a bit. Actually Sucked a lot. So in a better night for him, Enes Kanter would have gone 20 added to those 11 boards in limited time.

He has his flaws, but it's not that he doesn't contribute.

If you read the Laker forums its laughable. They think Kobe is still a top 10 player, they think their team might make the playoffs (wtf), and we're being delusional thinking we'll be a little better this year. The Jazz will finish ahead of the Lakers this year. Book it.

They haven't had many seasons like this and don't know how to process being a horrible team. Kinda like us during the Al Jefferson years.

It's kinda sad. Actually, **** that. It's really awesome.

Kobe should stop driving inside too much. It will wear his body out and he will get tired before the season is over. He should count on midrangers. Setting up teammates. There is no chance the Lakers are making the playoffs this year.

The Jazz? It is still laughable but never say never. Legit dumptrucking means get ready for surprises.

ill give exum credit. hes showing progress since summer league and even FIBA. his speed, and passing do excite me. keep giving me hope kid. keep proving me wrong.

I'd like to hear a candid conversation between DL and Snyder about Evans. I just don't see where he fits on the team especially with guys like Cooley and Motum playing fairly well. Evans dunks and reads to the kids on off days but he doesn't really provide much else.

You are correct: he doesn't fit into the rotation. But he's a great guy, popular, and has done a lot for the organization (e.g. Jr. Jazz). He can provide minutes as needed in case of injury. Jazz won't release him, but he likely won't get offered another contract. Motum and Cooley have skills, but neither are game changers. Who knows, maybe Felix and Jones are the two casualties.

I take heart in the fact that roster cuts are becoming harder and harder. It's nice when we're debating over the 13-15 spots. Shows how deep the team is becoming.
