But seeing his brownshirts in city streets gassing and kidnapping reporters, seeing how his administration flaunts subpoenas and oversight, and seeing how Barr has helped him obstruct and crime away, I really don’t see us that far off track from early 1932 to be honest.

I think there are a number of different countries falling into fascism that you can compare us to. We could also be chile in the late 70s and russia in the late 1990s. Fascism doesn’t have to mean world war. It can and often does persist as an authoritarian mafia like state. A second Trump term would only speed this along.

Not much to rebut in this article you posted. The author believes Democrats may protest if Trump wins. They might. But he doesn't know, anymore than he knows whether Republicans will protest if Biden wins.

What we do know is that Trump is setting up to fight the election results if he loses. He's not even trying to pretend otherwise. And if he encourages his followers to protest and to riot, they will.

Finally a response

Like you all are currently riotiong? These aren't Trumpers these are Democrats. I guarantee you some will protest but we will not riot like you. If we were going to riot we'd be fighting you all terrorizing American cities. All Democrat cities btw. We've been rather patient with these idiots while Democrats have continually cheered for them.

2 police were just ambushed, why aren't we rioting like Democrats? Why aren't we blocking ambulances from getting to the hospital. Ps how did 30+ know a cop was on his way to the hospital to block it? Hm.

Outside of a few idiot right wing radicals why are we not rioting at all? Did we riot when Obama won? Did we riot when you weaponized the FBI and said Trump colluded? When you impeached him over hearsay?

No... A majority of us are civil. Some are hardcore radical no doubt but we're not the ones burning cities and expecting police. We're not the ones bullying law enforcement. That's Democrats.

I'm not currently rioting, but then I'm not a Democrat. I do believe in equal justice, and I do believe in the constitutional right to protest. Those who are breaking the law are not doing it because they are Democrats, I suspect, but because they are either acting out of centuries of rage, or because they are taking advantage of an opportunity to be a criminal.

You say Trump has made America great again, but the current problems in this country (protests, COVID, etc) are on Trump's watch. There are few that think things are going great this year. Not sure why anyone wants four more years of Trump's America.

The idea that only Trump can fix what Trump has caused is ludicrous.

Pre covid this country was running fantastic. Jobs, economy, stocks, no major conflicts, isis on it's heels, new trade deals, peace deals, pulling out troops. Absolutely fantastic. I've never like Trump's persona but unlike all you I don't need him to be my friend I need results and he was giving them.

I've soured on him with covid and never shutting the **** up but what did Democrats do? They gave us the 2nd worst candidate in history. A guy directly responsible for putting thousands upon thousands of blacks in jail. A guy who has said equally terrible things like "blacks are not diverse like Mexicans". You all(not you persay) stayed absolutely silent on that. I would vote out Trump if there was a logical candidate but Democrats chose the very thing they hate. A career politician that has done nothing but made the country the way it is. A guy who had 40+ years to help the black community but put them in jail. An alleged rapist like Trump. Again you all stay silent and actually let him represent your party.

You(not you persay) are not as different from me as you think.

I don't know a single Democrat who is rioting. A large percentage of the country's Democrats do not know a person who is rioting - because there aren't a huge number of rioters. Saying that the rioters are Democrats and therefore Democrats are rioters is disingenuous, as is saying that all protestors are rioters.

You and I probably are not completely different. We want some similar things in life, I imagine. But you see a completely different way to get there than I do. You value different things than I do, apparently.
