In convo's like these i find many adults pull basically the "i'm an old dog who's too old to learn new tricks" card because it's convenient... but the way i see it, it always boils down to effort and competency.

Marginally interested, at best. I'm much more interested in learning other skills and topics in my life right now.

One thing that's been clear from day one, with this administration, is that truth is not something that will be tolerated lightly, if that truth hurts Trump's incredibly fragile ego. With Sharpiegate, we are truly reaching an absurd level. We are at the point where the focus of the administration is in defending BS at all costs. At all costs. That's what it's come to. The president is full of ****, but anybody in the administration that dares to point out the emperor has no clothes(and likely not even half a brain) will be dealt with harshly. Is this not as absurd as can be? We've come to this?! It's like everybody in the administration is focused on protecting Trump's ego. A completely FAKE presidency.

Calls for Wilbur Ross’s resignation intensified Monday following a New York Times report that the Secretary of Commerce threatened to fire top officials at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) after the agency’s Birmingham office contradicted President Donald Trump’s incorrect claim that Alabama was going to be hit by Hurricane Dorian.

Ross reportedly phoned NOAA acting administrator Dr. Neil Jacobs from Greece on Friday and instructed Jacobs to “fix the agency’s perceived contradiction of the president,” three people familiar with the interaction told the Times. According to the report, after Jacobs objected to Ross’s demand, he was told that NOAA’s politically appointed employees would all be fired if the situation was not rectified.

“The NWS Forecaster(s) corrected any public misunderstanding in an expert and timely way, as they should,” McLean wrote. “There followed, last Friday, an unsigned press release from ‘NOAA’ that inappropriately and incorrectly contradicted the NWS forecaster. My understanding is that this intervention to contradict the forecaster was not based on science but on external factors including reputation and appearance, or simply put, political.”

He also wrote that “the content of this press release is very concerning as it compromises the ability of NOAA to convey life-saving information necessary to avoid substantial and specific danger to public health and safety.”

“If the public cannot trust our information, or we debase our forecaster’s warnings and products, that specific danger arises,” McLean wrote.

As a result, McLean told his staff that “I am pursuing the potential violations of our NOAA Administrative Order on Scientific Integrity.”

“I have a responsibility to pursue these truths,” he added. “I will.”

Asked for comment, Brittany Bramell, the CIA director of public affairs, told CNN: "CNN's narrative that the Central Intelligence Agency makes life-or-death decisions based on anything other than objective analysis and sound collection is simply false. Misguided speculation that the President's handling of our nation's most sensitive intelligence—which he has access to each and every day—drove an alleged exfiltration operation is inaccurate."

A spokesperson for Secretary of State Mike Pompeo declined to comment. White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham said, "CNN's reporting is not only incorrect, it has the potential to put lives in danger."

There were no comments from the intelligence community. There were two statements from PR departments.

The CIA PR Director didn’t say the story was inaccurate. She said the misguided speculation was inaccurate. Which could mean anything. I doubt she knows the real reasons for the extradition, she’s a mouthpiece. And from the White House we get mostly lies, so I dismiss that comment entirely.

Pompeo’s Silence says something as he would be the guy with direct knowledge of what drove this decision.
