The official "let's impeach Trump" thread

Sigh

sooooo much corruption. If he isn’t prosecuted immediately after leaving office in January, then our democracy is dead. The next Trump will be far smarter and more authoritarian.

What's more likely, Trump is lying or every person who has left his cabinet/inner circle is lying?

Of course these guys want to sell books, but Bolton didn't really need the money. I'm inclined to believe that guys like him, Kelly, etc. that I don't agree with politically much of the time were just that baffled that this guy was somehow chosen to run with the country with zero understanding of how to actually do it.

This seems kinda impeachable. If this isn’t a high crime and misdemeanor, then what the hell is?

Impeachment won't happen at this point - it's time to vote.

we all know impeachment won’t happen anymore as the election is this fall. It doesn’t make his crimes any less impeachable, illegal, or otherwise unethical. Once his time is up in January, I hope he and everyone else in this administration are prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Trump needs to spend the rest of his life in prison. Barr, Pompeo, and other enablers do should as well. There needs to be a reckoning or the lesson learned by future wannabe autocrats will be the wrong one.

I don’t think tolerance of such behavior does good to our democracy. The makings of the end of the Weimar democracy began when Hitler and his band of nazis were served a tap on the wrist by a sympathetic judge for insurrection. Had he been treated as a traitor in 1923, democracy in Germany might’ve survived and millions wouldn’t have been killed.

Rule of law must be re-established once this illegal presidency ends. Otherwise our decline will just continue once republicans regain the White House in 2024 or 2028. And this time, the autocrat won’t be an incompetent reality tv star.

Anyone else think that Bolton’s testimony in the house and/or senate wouldn’t have made any difference in the outcome?
