The *OFFICIAL* Russia Is About To Invade Ukraine Thread

Of course @Red is posting all the biased, negative crap from the media that hates Trump. All the warmongers that want this war to go on forever so they can keep making their money.
And yet, all Trump did at the summit was improve the chances that the war will continue unabated. He accomplished nothing, and had active duty soldiers kneel and roll out the red carpet for a man wanted for war crimes. He let Putin lead off the presser, he let Vladimir decide there would be no questions. It was a huge win for Putin. And once again, Trump acted like a groupie meeting his hero. WTF?
You are incapable of seeing how disgraceful Trump’s “summit” was. He has improved the likelihood the war continues unabated.

In addition, Trump did this:

And that is why Trump is doing any of this. I can assure you, Trump does not care if 20 million people die in the Russia-Ukraine war. He’s a sociopath and a morality-free fascist. He does not give a damn how many die! His one and only interest in any of this is winning a Nobel Peace Prize. And the main reason is because Obama won a Nobel Peace Prize.

I swear, if Trump announced this week that he had decided to drop a nuclear bomb on LA, you would be here posting “YES!!”.

Amateur hour at the Alaska summit.

Papers with U.S. State Department markings, found Friday morning in the business center of an Alaskan hotel, revealed previously undisclosed and potentially sensitive details about the Aug. 15 meetings between President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir V. Putin in Anchorage.

Eight pages, that appear to have been produced by U.S. staff and left behind accidentally, shared precise locations and meeting times of the summit and phone numbers of U.S. government employees.

At around 9 a.m. on Friday, three guests at Hotel Captain Cook, a four-star hotel located 20 minutes from the Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage where leaders from the U.S. and Russia convened, found the documents left behind in one of the hotel's public printers. NPR reviewed photos of the documents taken by one of the guests, who NPR agreed not to identify because the guest said they feared retaliation…..

…..Jon Michaels, a professor of law at UCLA who lectures about national security, said that the documents found in the printer of the Alaskan hotel reveal a lapse in professional judgement in preparation for a high-stakes meeting.

"It strikes me as further evidence of the sloppiness and the incompetence of the administration," said Michaels. "You just don't leave things in printers. It's that simple."

The printed papers are the latest example of a series of security breaches by officials of the Trump administration. Earlier this week, members of a law enforcement group chat that included members of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) added a random person to a conversation about an ongoing search for a convicted attempted murderer. In March, U.S. national security leaders accidentally included a journalist in a group chat about impending military strikes in Yemen.

trump bullies Zelensky and blames him for starting the war and criticizes his clothes and acts like a tough guy in their meeting.

He has a red carpet, and limo ride, and airplane fly overhead for Putin and laughs and jokes with him and claps for him and kisses his *** during the meeting with Putin.

Two very different meetings. Only thing both meetings have in common is nothing got accomplished and no deal was made.
This is a great post. I couldn’t help but notice the difference between the two meetings as well. Trump fears/respects authoritarians while he doesn’t like principled and decent democratic leaders. Sad

I thought this thread was helpful to understand Trump’s psychology and those who continue to adore him:

At least President Trump is attempting to bring peace. Screw you @Red. I'm positive there would have been an outcome that you would have thought was great.

The only thing this guy would have liked is escalating to a nuclear war. How dare Pres. Trump use diplomacy!!

Freaking warmongers and their desire to make more money off it.

Some people clearly do not understand how diplomacy works. Offering *** or mouth before pleasantries have even been exchanged is not negotiating from a position of strength, it's being Putin's little slut. Trump is not a serious person and Putin does not take him seriously. He's a clown.

The only question is if he is our clown or Putin's clown.

My money is on Putin.
