The Official: Swallow your pride front office and trade Conley for Love

It worked cuz they had Siakam and Kawhi on the floor providing that extra length and athleticism. To play midget backcourt you need sizeable wings who could cover that extra ground or else your defense is absolutely gonna suck as opponents can just lob over you or shoot over you, like what we've seen in the last three games. If that's still not convincing enough, look at how much Portland's struggling on D this year with the CJ/lillard combo since they've lost aminu and harkless.

If Rudy doesn't come out and help, and our midget combo struggles on defending switches off of pick n roll, we are pretty much screwed.

So, a small back court could work with big wings/forwards behind them? voilá! As obvious to everyone, it's been pretty clear we need an extra body next to Royce. He is too small to defend big 3s or 4s. Niang is too slow.

Even if we had kept a big PG like Rubio or Hill, it's clear we have a need for another long defender. Ingram just shoot over Royce all night long. Gordon and Derozan just blew past our perimeter defense over and over. Rudy can't cover all mistakes.

Adding a capable defender should be a priority. If you want, you can sit Conley and replace him with 6'4 Clarkson or Mudiay. But they are not going to solve our perimeter defense.

Honestly man Rubio was way better than this **** Conley has brought to our team.

I like Rubio but people forget he was terrible the first couple of months here. In December 2017 he averaged 9ppg, 4.5apg on 38% shooting, 24% from 3. He found his groove in late February and was really good moving forward. His shooting in the playoffs really regressed though.

Brogdon or Dinwiddie would have been great additions but were not available to us.

If we’re going to play this game, then let’s make it known that had the Jazz not given Exum his exorbitant, undeserved contract that the Jazz would’ve very easily been in the market for Brogdon and Bogdanovic.

Sure. You are not going to find anyone left on this board who thinks that contract was a good idea. Beating a dead horse at this point.

all points taken, he still brought more than concrappy.

It was Teague in Min and Chriss in Phx lol (actually happened twice)
Yeah and those were cheap shots. Something that hasn't had to Conley here so I wasn't exactly fair with the comparison. But at least Rubio defended himself. Not sure how Conley would do in a brawl.

That's the mojo that Conley takes away from the team. Toughness and grit.

Those brawls over Rubio really brought the team together.

You're not wrong. Honestly, this team is soft like toilet paper.
