I feel bad for fabtrey. Burke would be really hard to apologize for on a night to night basis. Reminds me of Coach's plight on this forum with Keith McLeod back in the day. Pretty similar players, tbh.

I loved Trey's play last night. Was really a shot in the arm that we needed when everyone else looked drained and out of sync. But I have always felt that Trey is more of a SG than a PG. Because he seems to have a shoot before pass mentality. But great game by Trey. Just wish he was more consistent.

In Trey's defense, he makes a lot of passes when driving the post that result in missed shots, or in Favor's case, free throws. People don't remember that last year Burke was allergic to the paint like Dante is this year. He fixed that. Dude is a sophomore. To pretend that he has reached his peak is just kind of silly. All we need him to be is Howard Eisley. It would be nice if he could be Derek Fisher. Dude has shown that he does pretty good in crunch time, something that we currently need. Continuing to improve that floater and his driving game will improve his shooting percentage. Eventually improvement from our bench bigs will get him more open three pointers (especially if we get a distributer like Tomic.) Obviously there are players at the point that are better than Trey, but tell me where you will get someone better that will be happy playing behind Exum?

Jesus dude, can you be any more on his d*ck? Floor general? Trey over dribbles 90% of the time forcing a ****ty shot, usually by him, and no one else seems to get involved in the offense because of it. He also likes to not use his screens in those situations and would seemingly rather do it all on his own.

trey on a better shooting team is a 7 assist PER 36 guy and he doesn't turn the ball over. trey is a long term backup PG solution for this team. Exum? he is a 4 year project. if he doesn't look like an all star PG by 4th year, then we need to go get another starting PG.

the hate on trey is unreal. consistency is a major issue with trey, but he is still an asset to this team. there is a reason why backup PGs are playing in the 4th qtr over a starter.

he is still the best option at PG for this team. best case scenario for us is

exum - all star level PG with great D - 35 min, steal leader, PG killer
trey - competent veteran backup PG - 25 min, 6th man of the year contender, clutch shot maker

can we just stop bitching?

Your guy shoots 37% FGs.

Your guy shoots 37% FGs.

that's why i said 'best case scenario'. i'll refuse to believe our players won't get better in the future. if trey can bring it up to 40-42%, then that's a progress. this year is another set back because of new coaching, and his new role. i'm just hoping this is a sophomore slump. he's even struggling with FTs. he puts together good games then he goes all out tank mode. and he misses layups alot. it drives me nuts too.

back up PG is a critical position to a good team. you gotta have one who can lead the 2nd unit. you gotta have one who can score. we need trey to get better.

Trey bringing his %s up to repsectable levels is possible but he has major work to do. It would be much better for the Jazz if he did. But if during next season his % are still this low (or lower) then I say trade him for another PG.

He does get credit for that: nice work Trey. Unfortunately, we have seen this movie before. Next 3 games he is too likely to go 3 for 15, 1 for 9, and 0 for 11. His one hope to play in this league is to be a good shooter. So far, he is failing at that.

He's our new CJ Miles

He's our new CJ Miles

It took CJ Miles 6 years as a Jazzman to come close to what Burke is doing in his second season. A prime CJ miles is Burke's absolute floor if he doesn't improve at all. I challenge people to list all of these great point guards that are 1. Going to play behind Exum 2. Going to be better than Burke at his peak and 3. That we can somehow obtain by trading Burke FOR them. . . Because that's what I see the alternative plan being, no?

Who said anything about "great" PGs. As lauded on here Burke is a back up. So expecting a starter for him is funny. There are certainly more effeciant back up PGs in the league. That is a role I wouldn't mind a vet in.

I'm not talking about him being the same player or producing the same, I'm just saying he's the new CJ Miles of the team. He's really good 1 game then a non-factor for 3-4 games.
