I think Kanter needs to add about 10 lbs as well to get to 270. I know that sounds crazy but if you watch his offensive game it always consists of hitting the guy to create space to get an uncontested shot. He'll need to have a weight advantage on most centers of the NBA or they aren't going to budge. I think Kanter's frame supports this and won't slow him down like most.
Simple and realistic: preach defense first and hold players accountable for their effort level and their mistakes. Especially the bigs. If we're going to have a logjam down there, let's use it to make Kanter be the defender he's never been as early as possible. And generally speaking, keeping bigs accountable and rewarding minutes according to performance.
The rest is completely up to the players, but this team isn't going anywhere unless the coaching does the right things.
Raja Bell: 0 minutes a game.
We're going to be a lot better than anyone thinks. But we'll have a learning curve at the beginning of the year as we get new offensive and defensive schemes down. I don't just think we'll get the 7/8 spot, I expect it.
