The perfect draft trade.

Minnesota is supposedly about to sign Rubio, they are also stacked at bigs and sf. So if they get one of the top 2 picks. Then we trade them the 6 and 12th pick for the 1 or 2. This way we can get either Williams or Irving.

Basically just doing the Portland trade that landed us Dwill.

This team just went 17-65, I hestitate to make the claim that they are "stacked" anywhere.

Why would they do this trade? If the issue is that they have too many bodies then why would they take two picks for one? If the popular perception is that the draft class is weak (which was not the perception in the DWill draft where the Blazers really liked Martell Webster) what is their incentive to move down?

And as a random aside: putting Rubio in the triangle is going to be a disaster.

Except for the fact that Irving won't be as good as Deron. In fairness, Irving's pretty darn good and I never thought Deron would be as good as he became - but I get the impression the Jazz will be content entering next season with Devin Harris at PG. Maybe some do think this is the "perfect draft trade," but I expect the Jazz to use both their first-round picks on players.

1) It's hard to be as good or better than Deron
2) He has a decent chance of being comparable or even better.
