The Real Jazz Victory .....

So I guess the Millers are happy to stay at the salary floor and put the Buss' money in their pockets. It didn't look like those numbers included revenue sharing. The 90 million dollar salary cap should pay off nicely for the Millers next season.

I'd love to see the actual Financials and tax returns. I think it is likely much higher than what Forbes says. I know Larry said we have to operate at a profit but he also liked the Jazz a lot. I'm not sure I see that out of Greg.

I do think they've put money in development but that money versus the other money is likely apples to oranges. I also think we are developing the wrong types of guys... We need less JJ o Briens and more Christian wood types. Treat it like startup tech stocks... Go for home runs. Home runs are guys like Tyler Johnson, whiteside, Covington....

They have indeed put money into development. But the type of gains they expect from that investment are an open question. My suspicions have been growing.

Does anyone remember Gregs speach at the beginning of the 2009 or 2010 season when he said sonething like "The Jazz will remain in Utah as long as the fans deserve it."

The entire speech was creepy.

Right. They are also cheap investments and can be fired tomorrow in the case of development staff. The stampede actually might be a decent deal as salaries are low and the NBA is talking about beefing up this program.

Yep. Very easy investment, IMO, given the rest of their holdings.

LOL - reminds me of one of my favorite NBA stories - Glenn (Big Dog)Robinson wanted 70 mil guaranteed from the Bucks on his rookie contract. Bucks owner Herb Kohl said - "how about this, I sign the franchise over to you and you guarantee ME 70 million?"

Muahahahaha...

On the bright side though it is comforting to know that the Jazz Org. as a whole is STRONG financially and there isn't a risk of the team making a loss and eventually having to leave town.... in a small market like ours that's probably right up there in terms of our main 'goals'.
