The Rest of the Season Plan - Kind Of

One thing we need to rectify this offseason. We really have no traditional 2s or 3s. JC is a shooting guard but more kinda ball in hand combo guardy type. Secton too.

Just really weird place to situate yourself in the league these days.

One thing ?? I'd say nearly everything

I still can't believe we bumped Simone bc they might have had to pay him something like the mid level. This has been the move that means i really don't understand the point other than we're in for a decade of hoping one of the first round picks is an all time great.

We lucked into one in '17 and he (on the hush hush) forced his way out. Getting two of them in the 80's who actually wanted to spend their careers here was a gift that probably will never be repeated.
Odds that we'll draft another who will want to stay long enough to build a team around them are too poor to bet on.

I really admired what Simone became in his time here and wish we hadn't banished him to Detroit.

There's really no 2s or 3s any more. The future of NBA is coming down to three positions, PG, forward and center. SGs who can't pass and power forwards who can't shoot are being phased out.

If you have a SG who can pass, he will just play PG like how we are currently developing keyonte. If we have a PF who can shoot, he will just play the small ball center or anywhere from 2 to 4 depending on the lineup like how we are using Collins.
 
If we can get 4-5 picks from OKC for Lauri, just do it. Lauri is my favorite player right now but stop with this garbage 'trade most of our lineup' mid-season every year. Let's get it down in the off-season so we can go for Cooper Flag properly

Locke did bring up a good point that Detroit asking to trade for him signaled they were going to pay him a lot in the off-season potentially.

yeah that's pretty much the only reason i can understand. I'll be very curious to see what a lot means.

I'd be curious to know what kind of discussions the FO have or haven't had with Lauri and whether they've presented him any kind of specific plan for when they'd hope to be playoff competitive

Zanik said in a in-game interview he had multiple conversations with the players before and after the deadline about what they’re doing.
 
Build up Keyonte's confidence further, and try get one great poster dunk from Lauri, preferably and probably on some euro. He has a reputation of making euros pay.
