The Season is Over!

"NBA's decision on opening practice facilities to players in markets where governments may be loosening stay-at-home orders doesn't mean a resumption of season is imminent."

But it does tell us something rather interesting.

The league is opening practices to teams in markets where governments have been loosening stay-at-home orders. Well, the states that are doing that and also have an NBA franchise are:

- Minnesota
- Georgia
- Arizona
- Ohio
- Oklahoma
- Pennsylvania
- Texas

What do you notice about that list? Six of those states are homes to teams that are not in the playoffs.

That tells us Adam Silver is:
a) considering finishing the season for all teams, or
b) having a playoff tournament in which all teams will participate

More Knicks games for me! YEAH! I can actually once again see my team lose sixty games a season or get knocked out in round one of playoffs. Yeah!
Five of those states have teams that aren't in the playoffs. Given Jingles comments today about not being interested in playing in a non fans situation, I'm wondering if the league replaces the Vegas Summer League with a March Madness format one loss and your out or have it be like a softball or basketball tournament with a double elimination format. Have it go for a couple of three weeks and declare victory.

Give in to the dark side and become a Jazz fan. You know we love you here.

A couple of Jazz alums made the transaction page today. Boris Diaw resigned as president of a French team and Jack Cooley signed a multi-year contract with a team in Japan. The Cooley deal gives me hope there will be basketball sometime.

The NBA was going to get Lebron vs Giannis anyway, so why not send everyone else home and let the Lakers play the Bucks in a 5 game series in Houston?

But I thought the Knicks already won the last game of the year and therefore the title? I’m confused.

We did.

The Knicks have been crowned the 2019-2020 NBA Champions. Nothing can ever take that accomplishment and joy away from us. Everybody knows we won the title legitimately and we are now the team all other teams are gunning for.

Now if Adam Silver gets the teams to play again in June, July, whatever, that is a whole new season. Silly Summer League Season it will be called. If you Jazz are happy winning a bizarre Silly Summer League Championship then you Jazz fans are far sadder than I thought.

My Knicks won the 2019-2020 NBA Championship. The big one. You Jazz fans are sadly going for a Silly Summer League tournament win.

Uhh, if the Atlanta Hawks are allowed to practice, then obviously the teams that are out of it for post-season competition are now being allowed back in.

It is clear that the NBA is going in one of two directions:
1) resumption of season in some form with all teams participating, or
2) tournament with all teams participating

Doesn't matter. Because of Rudy Gobert, the 2019-2020 NBA season has officially been put in the books. The Knicks won the final game of that season -- we are the Champions. What comes this summer is just a little handout for you losers who couldn't get it done during the regular season like the Knicks did. We were in the league's final game - a version of the Super Bowl - and we won! Two teams - the Hawks and the Knicks - made it to that final game. And we won!

If the season is over some Post season awards are in order:

DPOY, obviously #27 Rudy Gobert because he shut down everyone.

ROY, #19 Covid, he flew under the radar last fall, but exploded in the spring when it counts. Look at the stats he accumulated. I heard he is a real ***, but can't argue anyone had more impact.

MVP, #23 Michael Jordan. Its playoff time and he explodes on the scene. He made the NBA relevant again while the other so-called stars were hiding.

Everything here is exactly correct... except that I think dudes are bored AF and may just want to workout... so I wouldn’t read too much into what teams are doing what. If the season is resumed it will be a meaningless “playoff”. The winner will get something but it will be equivalent of winning the big 3. NY will hang a banner in December or whenever real basketball begins again.
