For the average NBA fan, nobody cares about Gordon Hayward except Jazz fans. Case in point, Hayward is nowhere to be seen on the list of top vote getters on the all star ballot. Players like Jeremy Lin, Ricky Rubio, Chandler Parsons all have more votes than G-time. Pretty sad how lowly he's perceived by non-Jazz fans...

It's all about marketing and markets. We are a smaller market and the NBA doesn't gain anything by marketing our team or any players unless we are championship material, and even then it is pretty sparse. I have met many people outside of Utah who wondered what state Utah is in, or why the state is called Salt Lake City. It is no surprise at all that our players are not on anyone's radar. They never have been and barring locking down the next Lebron they never will be. I would love to see the media-storm if LeBron actually signed with Utah. I think the top guys at NBA HQ would all have aneurysms.

Also apparently, according to commenters at Bleacher Report, Parsons is better in Hayward in driving to the basket, shooting, athletecism, defense, FT shooting and IQ. Hayward is better at being white. Derozan is better than both at everything.

Looking for Hayward to drop another 27, 5, 5, 2 game on over 50% shooting. That'll be what? 8 in a row?

I really dont think its such a big deal that someone thinks Parsons is better than Hayward. He might be. Parsons is pretty damn good.

I wouldn't put DeRozan over either though.


Just talking about Hayward. I think the thing that a lot of casual fans of other teams dont get is, is that Hayward is an excellent defender.

Still baffled with Faried over Favors.


Think of it this way: If we were offered Faried straight up for Favors, would ANYBODY accept? Conversely, how would the Nuggets feel about a Faried for Favors swap?


Food for thought.

Not as a roster choice for an NBA team, no, hell no. But for a non perminent squad I'd take Faried over Favors too -but only right now. No other time. And know that I really love Favors. As a matter of fact he's my favorite in the team. He will someday be a regular piece of his national team's squad.
