The Trout Man Commeth...

We'll see. My opponent has a crap-ton more money than I do and has pretty much gone around and put three or four signs up around every single one of mine. That is, the ones of mine that haven't been stolen over the past few weeks. I bought 50 double-sided regular signs, almost half of them have been stolen. When my FIL ran two years ago, he had 200 signs and didn't have more than five come up missing. Coincidence? I think not. My opponent isn't the one doing it, but I wouldn't put it past some of his supporters, i.e. his family members.

As is usual with politics (and I never really believed it until I got into it), he with the most money, wins. Platform/Beliefs/Past be damned. I'm certainly not throwing in the towel, but I am getting deflated with all of the BS that is going on.

Better go get your signs at sundown Tuesday, put them under lock and key. Run three more times and you'll have as many signs as he does. . . .

Sounds like you have an opponent whose FIL is a honcho at Nelson Labs.

Shapes up to be a great "Battle of the Titans" of epic family dynasty proportions. Perfect drama for Utah. Can I publish a little fiction based on this plot?

Good luck good sir!

I came into town just to vote, but unfortunately I talked my wife outta buying a house in Trout's district two years ago, and I can't vote for him. I get to vote for a Vietnamese guy though.

That is a pretty catchy sig line you're sportin', Gameface. Just so I can look it up when I run for dogcatcher in West Valley City, I'm putting it into a more permanent record here:

If pit bulls are outlawed only outlaws will have pit bulls. --- Gameface, November 8, 2011

Trout, you still have hope. Obviously the incumbent's gofers are worried. If the dinosaur has made enough enemies, you'll win by a landslide.

One thing I liked in Charlie's War was how he defeated an incumbent councilman in Nagodoches who had murdered his dog for digging up a flower bed by feeding it raw meat with shards of glass in it. Charlie had a farmerboy drivers license, and spent the day driving black folk to the polls, and telling them about his dog.

Today is the day, finally.

Win, lose, or draw, I'll be happy when 10:00pm rolls around. This has been light years harder and more stressful than I ever dared imagine.

Thank you all for your support via cash donations, kind words, emails, posts, poker games, etc.. If you look at my campaign finance statement, you'll see that the vast majority of my funding came from the people on this board. Words can't describe the feeling of knowing that I have that many innerweb friends, most of whom would probably punch me in the face if we ever met face to face. I love you all.

Now, get out and vote! (or call your friends/family who live in T-Ville)

Ya, that wasn't directed at you, I promise. It was mostly directed at my three brothers who no-showed or canceled five minutes before we were supposed to start.
