What's new

The Warriors new bad *** Arena.

Two thoughts:

1) There is absolutely no parking there. You'd have to take public transportation.

2) Sucks to be Oakland.

They are downgrading capacity?

Is it just me, or does the seem like a terrible idea when you consistently sell out games>? They should be upgrading capacity.

The whole window thing is awesome though.

I live in SF. I'm surprised they're building right on a pier like that. It could literally fall below sea level. It looks like they're going to develop the whole Embarcadero area below Market St.

That looks pretty sweet. If Seattle gets a team, their arena is supposed to be on the waterfront too. And we are stuck with Radium Stadium for the next 40 years.
You do realize that Utah could make a case for having the actual smallest market-size in all of pro sports and the bay area is 6th largest (at least), right? So yeah, they get more goodies than us.

There's a large, relatively affluent population in the Bay Area that goes nuts over the Warriors. San Francisco + Oakland + San Jose is over 3 million people easily. Going to Warriors and Giants games is becoming a hip thing for Silicon Valley techies to do, and a lot of Asians really dig basketball for some reason.

As for earthquake safety, maybe the arena is just supposed to float off into the bay.

Considering I'm never going to pay for all of the fancy upgrades, the ESA is fine with me for the next 40 years. It's a fun environment and has a great location.
