What's new

The win-now movement = Moral victories. KD to the Warriors means they've overplayed their hand

If you know anything about sports, the best team on paper doesn't always win. Yes this signing makes them the favorites but they were this year and didn't win. There are upsets all the time in sports.

As a Jazz fan, I still believe that if we are healthy we have a great chance to win the division and make the playoffs. That is the next step isn't it? GS is going to have no bench so maybe a team with deep bench and that plays defense can give them trouble.

This year I am expecting the Jazz to make the playoffs and fight for the division. The Jazz are a few years away from being contenders but they have several picks in the next couple of drafts so PG_AB can be assured that the Jazz will still have plenty of young guys. This move makes only 2 teams that I don't think the Jazz can compete with yet in the West. (SA and GS). I can't wait for the first meeting with GS, I am a competitor and I just want Utah to man up and play. Kicking the can down the road is for COWARDS.

1st post in the thread thats got nothing to do with the OP. I'm counting. You wanna fight my logic with comments about me? go for it, you're saying nothing.

care to try deobfuscate my points here?

Anyone whos been reading my posts over the years knows that what i've just posted here is nothing new, just an update. It's now just painfully obvious with KD to GSW that Hayward should've been moved for the picks.

These moves are veiled as appeasing Hayward but they also appease Dennis Lindsey who's yet to make the playoffs here.

The Jazz are 200:1 to win the chip. Funds are now being allocated for moral victories to put asses in seats and get a few more playoff games to make $$ from.

These coming issues all could've been obviated too.

Too bad you weren't obviated. ****ing tool.

I love how pg~abitch avoids the site like the plague as Barnes is playing like the biggest punk *** bitch (in the NBA Finals) since pgab ran off with his ball, and now returns with "logic" about the Jazz and their FO having screwed everything up as if following his ingenious rationale was genius. You really can't make this **** up.

Take your meds, dingleberry.

P.S.--Simmons was the #1 pick.

The thing is, all sports arent equal. The best team on paper does win in the NBA more often than not. Its not like Football where anyone can win.

If the playoffs were a 1 and done like football, then yes, you could argue other teams have a shot.

Short of a bunch of injuries, the Warriors will win the championship. The only other teams with a chance is the Cavs and Spurs. But Id still put the Warriors way out in front.

They don't need a bunch of injuries, just one. If Draymond goes down, they're completely ****ed imo.

Let's not forget Okc lost Durant without getting anything in exchange...big failure for Sam Presti!

I guess that now they will try to trade immediately Westbrook to avoid to make the same mistake.

I just hope the Jazz will not lose Hayward for nothing neither.

the ****ty part is that if OKC decides to blow it up for the next draft, they have the assets to get several good players from a stacked class.

Well we can at lest find solace in the fact they are stuck with Enes Kanter.

Hater's Wish #1:
May Enes Kanter wilt like a virgin flower on a shriveled stock with this new pressure.

I'm confused. What did getting Hill and Johnson do to affect the future? It's not we got them in exchange for letting one of the young guys go. Why not try to make the playoffs and be relevant again? There's more to the sport than championship or bust, I want to watch some damn postseason play.

And what? The whole league should lay down for the Warriors the next five years? That is ****ing stupid. What if this didn't happen then the Jazz would be right there, but NOW they have no chance? Utah shouldn't change a thing based on what the Warriors have done.

It's a better plan than making 'win now moves' to set up some david vs goliath matchup

Father time never loses.

Jazz held all the cards to be prepared to wait thru the storm and they traded some of them for MORAL VICTORIES

What did they trade? A mid-first rounder who has no guarantee of even being an NBA contributor? Trey Burke? None of their core were traded. It isn't DL's fault that KD decided to go to the Warriors.

Lol, we "tank" for 5 years and hope we get lucky and draft the next LeBron. Chances are we don't and chances are in 5 years a bunch of other prime age stars form another super team. So what then tank another 5 years? Worst ideas ever. We tanked we got some youth and players that might break out. We also have some solid guys going into their prime. What better time to start trying to win. Our best chance is in three years, who knows what the league will look like. LeBron could fall off, Durant could get injured or move teams. So much could happen, stick to our plan which we are. This was always the year meant to start trying to win.
