The win-now movement = Moral victories. KD to the Warriors means they've overplayed their hand

Lol, we "tank" for 5 years and hope we get lucky and draft the next LeBron. Chances are we don't and chances are in 5 years a bunch of other prime age stars form another super team. So what then tank another 5 years? Worst ideas ever. We tanked we got some youth and players that might break out. We also have some solid guys going into their prime. What better time to start trying to win. Our best chance is in three years, who knows what the league will look like. LeBron could fall off, Durant could get injured or move teams. So much could happen, stick to our plan which we are. This was always the year meant to start trying to win.

pretty much this whole thread...

I couldn't possibly wade through this entire thread after reading the first page so forgive me if this point has been brought up already:

Short term, I see this as an easier path for Utah to win their division. Our core needs to learn how to win a division and a playoff series or 2 before they're ready to go after a title.

Let's see this team start winning divisions, and then in 3 or 4 years, maybe a core that's already in place knows how to win big games and who the hell knows what GS looks like by then?

Those of you pissing the bed over this make me chuckle.

so you did't read the thread but still insult those that likely are chicken littles.. right?

truth is most feel exactly what you posted...

so..

Why not try to make the playoffs and be relevant again? There's more to the sport than championship or bust, I want to watch some damn postseason play.

And what? The whole league should lay down for the Warriors the next five years? That is ****ing stupid. What if this didn't happen then the Jazz would be right there, but NOW they have no chance? Utah shouldn't change a thing based on what the Warriors have done.
THIS. Nobody becomes NBA champion overnight...there is a process. You need to become battle hardened and take your lickings before making a run at a title. The Pistons had to slay the mighty Celtics before they became champs, the Bulls had to overcome the Bad Boys before becoming a champion, Even the mighty Lebron couldn't win a title right off the bat in his return to the Cavs, he had to wait another year. The point is, the Jazz have to make the playoffs first and foremost. That's step #1 in the cake baking recipe. Who gives a **** if we don't realistically have a chance to win a title, we need to get our feet wet in the playoffs and start the process.

I sincerely thought PGAB was more intelligent than this.

The warriors are not beyond injury, the cavs and thunder proved that this year. No team is infallible.

What if the Pistons would have just given up and snowballed their assets when Payton and Malone went to LA?

What if Larry Bird would have just said "F it, Magic is on the lakers with all time greats, Imma just take a nap until all those old guys retire.

The league is about competition.

Durant has a screw in his foot, Curry has ankles made of glass, Klay Thompson is bound to get suspended at some point for violating the leagues anti drug policy, Bogut is likely gone, Ezeli is gone, Iggy looked like his back mysteriously disappeared in the playoffs, Barnes is gone, Shaun Livingston is living on borrowed knees, Ian Clark sucks, and on and on. The warriors are seriously precarious. The only "stable" guy is draymond green, and waving your balls in his face will pretty much guarantee you win the title.

So now the plan is to hope better teams get injured? #losementallity

The Jazz small chance to move up in the west has now been reduced to trivialities, they need the warriors to get injured which is no plan at-all.. They're showing up to a gunfight with a water pistol in the western playoffs, even with George Hill and Joe Johnson..

The move was clearly to stay in player development/asset acquisition and teams like Boston and PHX were ready to help them do that and they balked. The Warriors core is mostly players in the 25-27 range, the move was to build a squad of 18-22 year olds (Like the Lakers are doing..)

Utah's priority should've been to stay young. I've been saying for years here snowballing the assets.. for as young as they are, if I was in charge they'd be even younger. Thats the best way to navigate thru these next few seasons.

Jazz fans being held captive by Hayward and Lindsey who wants to show improvement, it's a sham. The groundwork was in place to wait this storm out properly, instead they've decided now's the time to make hero moves (instead of shrewd ones).

Posted on July 4th last year. Told no lies. Look at how precisely spot on I was... and you're still gonna give me ****?

My haters here don't really hate me or my clairvoyance, they're confused. They hate hearing the cold truth.

And its still a dumb idea. You dont get your guys into their prime and keep tanking and rebuilding. Trying to win last year and start building to win was and is the correct idea. With or without Hayward we will continue to try and win.

Your eternal ideas of continually tanking to always get younger and hope you can get a super star and strike when the league is down is a poor strategy. You dont let teams dictate what you do as a franchise. Super teams can always form and always fall. Everyone thought Miami would be on top for a decade. Everyone thinks GS will be on top for 5+ years. Things can change overnight. When you develop a core and they start to hit their prime you make the right choice to try and win with the assets you have. Maybe it does not get you a championship but it gets you close and it gives you a chance.

You would have said the same BS you are preaching now about the Jazz with Stockton and Malone. Should we have traded or let one of them go since we couldnt beat the Bulls? No.

What team should not be getting younger in the NBA right now beside GS? Who should be going for it? We all know you just want to draft a bunch of picks every year.

Teams have to take risks and try and win. Sports are about winning and competing not tanking and waiting for the competition to be weak. We all know your are afraid of failure but that doesn't mean we need to be or our team should be. That's why you delete most of your posts...

Give me the underdogs who are fighting and trying to win. If/when a team beats GS in the next few years it will be even more epic.

Get out of here with your loser mentality.
