I’ve been to two really outstanding performances over the past year or so. I went to Hamilton in LA and now Wicked in Salt Lake City. I really enjoyed them both, especially Wicked. I thought the humor between the performers and the story they added to the classic Wizard of Oz was just really fun. The wife saw it years ago and said that this current crew in SLC sounds better. Ive always wanted to see Phantom of the Opera but haven’t. So that’s still on the bucket list. What are the best musicals you’ve ever seen?

I’m still feeling burned After last year’s game 3 against Houston where I shelled out hundreds of bucks to watch Spida throw down a few cool dunks in warmups and then watch the rockets jump out to a 50 point halftime lead. So I’m feeling that spending a lot of money on theater might be a better investment when trying to do something “cultured.”

other than the high school musicals that my oldest son was in.... LOL (those ARE my favorites though, for one thing, you can't beat the ticket price!)

as far as professional theater, it's tough to pick one but a personal favorite would be MOTOWN THE MUSICAL with my youngest son's best friend Justin in the role of Smokey Robinson. He was in the touring company for a year or so - and I believe they played in SLC so if you saw the musical, you probably saw him.

For me it's a tie between:
* The Hot Mikado - saw at Ford's Theater in Washington D.C. (Yes, that Ford's Theater.) Probably not playing anywhere now. It's a swing adaptation of Gilbert and Sullivan's The Mikado. Sounds a little strange, but it was incredibly fun.
* Les Miserables - at Tuacahn near St George. Cool setting, complete with cannons on the hill. I had a friend tell me he had gone and it was a life-changing experience. So I went... and it did not disappoint. Music and the story are both amazing, both are among the GOATs. Jean Valjean was fantastic. And the guy who played Javert sang one heck of a lot better than Russell Crowe! (who ruined the Hollywood adaptation for me :-( )

Saw Traveling Broadway Les Miserable at the Capitol Theater in 2003 as a graduation gift to myself.

Good choice for a few hundred dollars.

My parents took all of their kids and spouses to see Les Miserable at Capitol Theater in the early 2000’s.
My wife and I have also been to Wicked at Capitol Theater and just a couple weeks ago we saw it again at the Eccles Theater.

Les Miserable is my all-time favorite. I've seen it several times, and it is always very emotional for me.

I saw Evita in London and it blew me away.

Other favorites: Man of La Mancha, Sound of Music, Wicked, Phantom of the Opera, Wizard of Oz, Joseph and the Technicolor Dream Coat, Camelot, Forever Plaid (and likely others I'm forgetting right now).

Still a bunch I want to see. I love going to the theater.

Saw Les Mis on Broadway, Wicked in London, and the Fantastics off Broadway. Top three.

Would have loved to see Les Mis at Tuacahn I love that setting. Unfortunately, whenever we are passing through they have not had top shows. We have seen several plays there, but I can't remember a single one.

I saw a touring production of Les Mis in SLC with my first wife, so early 90s? And then a wonderful production of Hedwig & the Angry Inch at a little theater in downtown, and a touring production of Jesus Christ Superstar with Ted Neely and Corey Glover. Those were probably my top 3 that I've seen. Oh, plus I used to go see Saturday's Voyeur almost every year.
