The Houston Rockets are determined to trade forward Thomas Robinson – the fifth pick in the 2012 NBA draft – to create salary-cap space for the pursuit of Los Angeles Lakers' free-agent superstar Dwight Howard, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

Future 2nd-round pick?

Serious question...

What the hell is his deal?

Sacramento? Ok, i get it. Worst franchise in the NBA.

But Houston?

Any ideas why this kid isn't getting any PT?

Did Millsap cost us $3.6million a year to watch him develop?

That's completely irrelevant to the discussion.

Paul Millsap played as a rookie and contributed for a playoff team despite having less talent than Robinson and playing behind Boozer in his prime. Why isn't this kid playing right now? I don't understand. He came out of college as a very athletic high motor guy. Even if he can't shoot or doesn't have a refined post game, why isn't he playing? Are there red flags that we don't know about?

Houston was in the middle of a playoff race when they acquired him and probably wasn't comfortable throwing him into their system in must win situations. Just a guess of course.

His athleticism is far from overwhelming by NBA standards. IMO he has equal athleticism to Millsap in his rookie year. Also Millsap was a better roll man, and that is definitely not Robinson's game. Millsap was also a better passer and team player by default because Robinson really sucks at passing...a lot

Umm... Yes?

I'm no expert on Robinson. And I'm pretty sure I've made it clear that I'm not advocating a trade for Robinson move. I'm wanting to know why the hell he hasn't played despite playing at Kansas, dominating college, being drafted #5, and looking like a pretty darn good prospect. He couldn't get ANY pt for one of the worst teams in the league. And then couldn't get any burn on a team that severely lacked bigs.

Why isn't he playing? Is he a complete bust? Even if he cannot shoot or pass, why isn't his carcass being thrown out there to block a shot or two, grab a rebound, and throw down a dunk?

Just out of curiosity, why was he drafted at #5 then? Sounds like he shouldn't have even been drafted in the entire first round.

His inside game isn't translating, since he's a bit undersized, and he can't do too much away from the hoop right now. It's a bit like Derrick Williams. He sould be able to come off the bench at least, a la Carl Landry. And he still has some upside.

Because of his production no doubt. He put up some crazy numbers. I certainly would not have drafted him at #5. His game doesn't translate well to the NBA.
