Got banned for the start of the season with zero explanation or post that showed my offense btw. Modstapo doing crazy work.

But here are my thoughts on the season so far:
  • THT has been OK, but it's overall promising. He's playing a different role than I expected. He's playing much more straight PG than I expected. It's not ideal, but it's a great learning opportunity for THT.
    • Obviously Keyonte is the PGOTF, but I like THT learning the ropes currently. Overall his best role is going to be a versatile 6th man, but him learning to be a playmaker is great. You can tell he is overthinking (which is great, you can tell he's making a concerted effort to make PG decisions) and it's hurting his drive game, but I think he will get it. I'm not saying finishing will be a strength, but the preseason he showed better touch and finishing and that hasn't translated yet on the regular season (the Denver game was obviously better).
    • The biggest issue with THT as the PG currently is he can't really guard PGs. I love him on D as a switchy big guard/wing. I hate him chasing starting points through screens. It's awful and it makes D super hard since Clarkson can't guard anyone. I think the future of the season is starting Key/THT together. Key's D and ability to move his feet with quick guards is promising. I think him and THT would a big upgrade on D over Clarkson/THT.
    • THT's open 3pt shooting continues to be in the high 30's as it has been since the start of 2023. I don't think it's a fluke. If he takes quality shots he will shoot a nice percentage.
  • Clarkson is annoying still. Clarkson is my most love/hate player of all time for the Jazz. I just want him back in his best role, 6th man. To me he is the primary reason for our defensive woes. I'm sure he will be better though.
  • Lauri has been great offensively. I still wish we could use him more as a hub offensively where he could playmaker a bit more. The work he is doing without much help is impressive.
    • Defensively I'm unimpressed, but he's far from the issue.
  • Collins is good. I like the versatility he brings to future team building, either as a trade asset or long term piece. His rebounding gives the Jazz an elite team skill. I think the shooting comes along. He's solid defensively.
  • Walker. The rose colored glasses are off. He's not a guaranteed 30 mpg player. That's not a knock on him, it's just where the NBA is going. He's never going to reach Goberts peak both because he's not nearly as good as Gobert and the NBA is just harder for his player type than it was during Gobert's peak. Still a great player, but he isn't matchup proof. He will look incredible against some, much worse against others.
    • THT will be his best friend. The better THT gets as a driver, the more opportunities Walker will get.
  • For the love of God stop giving Kris Dunn minutes. Offense killer. The mask is off. You can't be a non shooter/non scorer ball pounder whose only offensive move is get middle for a push shot against top competition. The D is good, but he's not locking down starters. He's a fine 3rd string guard, but he doesn't need to get minutes. Keyonte needs those on-ball reps against 2nd units.
  • Sexton. He will be better. It's hilarious watching him constantly call for the ball and his teammates look him off in favor of Keyonte. Still think he should be traded, but when his reality sets in and he gets back to doing what he does best, he will improve.
    • You just can't have a good defense with him on the floor.
  • Ochai is going to continue to be awful if there is no offensive flow. His pull up 3 on KD just shows how lost in the sauce he is. He needs his table set.

Still need to see how the Jazz play against the more subpar teams. Still think the Jazz eventually click. Brogdon would be a big upgrade over Clarkson or Sexton. Josh Hart is getting squeezed in New York and I would be interested in him to help the defense and just overall team IQ.

Appreciate your thoughts, and glad you stuck around. Reason for ban should never be a mystery so hopefully it's cleared up.

It was. I told someone to go sit at the kids table, told them their mom breastfed me,and their mom give it up to the finest gentlemen.

So I got banned for 1/10th of the stuff said about Hearksy's mom.
You weren’t banned for that. You received an infraction. That infraction, on top of others, put you over the top. The resultant ban happened as soon as the infraction was issued.

I enjoyed those collected thoughts, but noticed Keyonte summary was missing. So please give us your level of hype for him.

Fine. I guess we gotta settle for him being embedded in THT then.
He just isn't doing much yet to really breakdown. He just looks promising overall and I believe in it. I just don't think he's ready to start, but he's definitely ready to takeover all the on-ball reps we have been wasting on Dunn.

If Ochai continues to suck perhaps a Stars reunion is in order for him. He's a second year player and I believe the GLeague rule is that up to three players on rookie contracts can play in a game there.

tl;dr: THT is the GOAT
