Just want to say a couple of us pointed this out as a negative when we traded for THT initially. I would probably rather have the additional 11M in cap space right now but we will see what happens.

Imagine if THT had a huge glow up. It wouldn’t be crazy, as he’s super young, super athletic, and super long. If he became a legit PG who can run the offense for this team… would ****ing love to see that team just for the size.
Contract year, it’s the right age for a huge breakout year, if it’s coming. Major X-factor for the team in the upcoming season.

I think we could pretty easily dump him to a Detroit/Houston/San Antonio/Washington if we did have a pricier target in mind. An expiring 24 year old with potential is a pretty exciting and low risk try-before-you-buy option for a team with cap space. Especially given this class.

I still don't know what I think of THT but I guess I probably shouldn't. I know what we've seen, and what I've seen isn't a piece worth continued investment in. However, I've also seen enough talent that he could improve the things that make him a tough fit, and if he does, he could be pretty damn good.

I’d be happy to get a 2nd for him or a former late 1st round pick that hasn’t worked out for him.
THT had the 4th worst EFG% in the league last year. That is atrocious.
I think the only people I've heard talking about a possible trade with THT are those who aren't really fans of THT in the first place. This presumably doesn't include the Jazz's FO (though I guess we'll see).
By contrast, there's been plenty of buzz about the possibility of a S&T involving Clarkson if he opts in.
So I think it's pretty likely THT stays and if Clarkson opts in, I'd give it a 50/50 chance that there's a trade coming with him.
