What's new

Tiago Splitter?

The 76ers sent him down to their D-League team. He hasn't played an NBA game since the end of January 2016 due to multiple injuries. He's in the D-League for what they're calling 'rehab'. Easing him back into playing.

So the Jazz signed Tiago Splitter from the Dleague?

They picked him up in the Ilyasova trade. He is doing some rehab with the 87ers. Same as Burks did this year. This is going to become a thing in the NBA.

IDK about that. I think Splitter asked to do this. It's the last year of his contract, he most likely won't be with the Sixers next year. Players who have long-term contracts or easily had rotation minutes won't rehab in the D-League.

I've stopped and started playing enough to realize that when you get back on the floor, everything is flying past you so fast and your "court sense" is impaired for some time. And you can't get into game shape without minutes. If a player's remaining career depends on getting back to "speed" more quickly, and a team is not willing to drop performance as you recover (limited minutes), it seems like it is in the player's interest to do so.

Well see
