What's new

Timberwolves. Tonight. 8 pm Texas Standard Time.

That's horrible... you don't give up lottery pick for a back up.

The last trade Mo Williams was involved in was:

Mo Williams, Troy Daniels, cash considerations for Gary Neal and 2nd round pick in 2019.

That's the point. Burke is playing so bad that if we included him, we would hardly get anything out of a trade.

I'm talking about a trade for a veteran pg though. Not the draft.

I wouldn't even bother to trade for one. Just sign Jeremy Lin to a 2 year deal, and then have Burke/Neto/Cotton compete for the 3rd PG spot. I have a hard time seeing the Jazz getting a really good PG to replace Burke unless they trade for one at the deadline. Seems like it was a buyers market for them this past year at the deadline. Goran Dragic, Reggie Jackson, Isaiah Thomas, MCW and Brandon Knight all got dealt. No Williams before that.

Jazz need improvement from Exum and a competent backup and they'll be fine.

Reading through this thread it sounds like the game was exactly what the box score showed. Trey stinking it up and dropping a deuce on the whole thing. 4-22 is simply inexcusable. What did the guy think he was the only one capable of scoring at all? Whoever made the comment about hero ball was spot on. He plays every game as if it's the NCAA championship and he had to carry a team of scrubs through the whole tourney. Terrible.

Your unconditional defense of Burke has become embarrassing.

Ive blasted him too, and been honest about his wild inconsistency. I know its popular with teenage boys from 12-18 to blast people on the internet, but someone of us see the big picture.
Its too early to close to door on him. Where were you the last two games when he played good?

Trey's rare good games really don't even begin to justify him shooting it as much as he does. When a player with such an abysmal shooting percentage takes as many shots as Trey does, it's debilitating to an offense.

I've defended Trey in the past but his unbelievably selfish play down the stretch was the nail in the coffin for me. A Timberwolves fan on another forum put it best:

"We somehow won OT with Chase Budinger playing the 4 vs Derrick Favors
incredible."

I have never blasted Trey. I have been quietly patient in hopes he might figure it out, while at the same time keeping one foot squarely planted in reality. As for seeing the big picture, Trey is the weakest link right now, and if you honestly see him as part of the big picture, you should consider being fitted for glasses.

Painful to watch. Another important lesson as this defeat comes from a mix of : Cockiness (we gonna crush those timberwolves), massive chucking from Trey, passive defense (there you see that we miss Hayward on defense as welle as offense) particularly on the 3pt shot. The team needs to learn from that.

And of course Trey needs to learn fast how to play under control, or he won't last long in this league...

Just finished watching.
HAHAHAHAHA!!!

So much for contending in a few years. Those Wolves look like they are one Snyder away from deep playoff run with everyone healthy, not the Jazz.
