What's new

Time for KOC to go and the Millers to sell this team!

Holy **** lose to the Warriors at home. This team is horrible and that damn KOC will do nothing! The Millers just keep counting tickets dollars and that is all they care about! Time for the Jazz to change hands, that is the only way this team ever wins anything!

Be careful what you wish for! New owners may move team entirely. SLC is a very small market. Pretty lucky to have a team at all just like my current place of residence. To say they dont want a championship is pretty idiotic. They paid luxury tax last year and will probably do so again (granted a few more days until trade deadline). Winning a championship would be the best way to make money, but spending more money is not a guarantee to win one. Ask the Knicks from a couple of years ago.

No owner will come out and say "we don't want to win a championship", but don't be naive...there are many NBA owners that treat their franchise strictly as a business. As long as they are in the black at the end of the year...business is good, goal accomplished. Championships would be nice, but it's not a necessity. Sadly, IMO, this is the category the Millers fall into.

Many teams in the NBA have had to go backwards in order to go forwards. This is a really weird season for the Jazz with all the early road wins, I think everyone was optimistic. Clearly we need to make some roster moves in order to go forward, but by going backwards, it forces KOC to have to make some of those roster moves sooner than later.
I politely disagree. I think the Millers are set on NOT spending money. Losing only reinforces their belief that NOTHING will help this team contend this season. If the Jazz were in the division lead, competing with the Lakers for the 2nd best record, then I think the pressure would be there to make a move.

And Sloan leaving affords them the perfect excuse to maintain the status quo - i.e. the team needs to adjust to Ty, they need to come together and "heal", the last thing they need is more upheaval and change (etc., etc.).

Losing also means they will keep their pick in next season's draft. There will be uncertainty over what happens with the CBA, but by having AK off the payroll, the Jazz will be in a solid financial state (and with just one more year of Memo's contract left) and have the #14 pick at worst.

Make a desperation trade and the Jazz likely have to take on additional multi-year salaries, they may sneak into the playoffs somewhere between #6-8 and in doing so, they'd forfeit their draft pick to Minnesota to complete the Jefferson trade. Of course, they may still make the playoffs with this squad and lose their pick anyway.

We will pay luxury tax (more than likely) for two years in a row. The fact is that the Millers dont have the money like a Paul Allen or a big market team like Lakers, Bulls, Knicks, etc. Most teams in the league can not spend all that they want to. Hopefully the new CBA will even things out.

This is funny coming from someone with that avatar. The fact is in your tiny brain you think the Jazz will win, and you're dead wrong. As long as the Jazz do business in SLC they will never have the right players to win NEVER! Next time try to use facts instead of personal attacks. You sound like a crazy liberal! I have been a Jazz fan my whole life and always will. The thing is I know that until they leave Utah they will never win, and they will never leave until the Millers sell the team!

They don't have the money? They own car lots in 7 states and build houses out of granite, stop playin! They have 3 private jets and too many cars to list. The fact is the Millers want to have a Starbucks, but use 7-11 coffee. This does not work in sports!!! Lets take all the latest champions in all the Major sports, they are all at the top of the food chain, PERIOD! But hey why not do all this the people of Utah are such loyal people and will keep paying for the ***** coffee!

All the owners of NBA teams are of course rich, but there is rich and there is rich rich!!!

C'mon man don't use the loss to GSW as an excuse to post this, you've felt this way since as long as I can remember. The loss to GSW on back to back night being short handed (down 4 players and 1 playing injured) is not that unpredictable especially with everything else that has taken place this past week. If it was just a bad loss then LA should blow up their entire team for losing to the Cavs.

Next the Jazz are usually skimpy when it comes to spending especially in the mid 90's (which I know is the source of your feelings on the Millers and KOC) and I would agree with you then but now as has been stated they're in the luxury tax hell for 2yrs in a row now so that in of itself disputes your claims. Although I do have a feeling that the new Miller in charge while opened to spending more is more apt to change and over react in some cases as he's a business man and doesn't have as strong personal feelings as his dad.

Lastly if the Jazz did leave Utah I don't think I'd follow them or any NBA team for lots of reasons (but that's for another thread). On the bright side that would leave more post coital time for us!
