I kept hearing the same thing about Millsap and Jefferson. "There's no way the jazz let them expire. The jazz will for sure work out a trade to bring back assets." How did that go down?

Went down wonderfully. For Paul and Al, Jazz got two unconditional first round pics, two second round pics and cash. No other team was going to give up this much for the right to play Al and Paul for a partial season. I'll challenge anyone to try to put together a logical mid-season trade scenario that is better than what the Jazz got.

We'll have the same kind of optionality this year, trade them or use the cap space to deal for assets by teams trying to put together trades and save ten million + including penalty. (Although with Favor's extension we have less space to play with).

I was a huge Phillies fan in the late 60s-70s, as they rose from bottom to WS Champs. Hard to imagine a better feeling than sticking with a team through thick and thin. The alternate, I guess, is to look at the standings and always pick a team near the top to cheer for. My wife's not as hot as she used to be, maybe I should change there as well? Depends on the details of the trade. I doubt the Clippers would have pulled the trigger without some assets coming there way. And no guarantee that we could have signed him to a new contract.

Thanks mentioning those two shots....... The nba box scores shouldn't even count shots like that against your shooting percentage.... which is why a lot of guys intentionally release the ball after the buzzer sounds.
