Time to Raid the Grizzlies

Really? Mayo had a good last game. prior to that not to much. not to mention that Memphis demoted him to the bench for a rookie.

Haven't we already gone over the fact that the Grizz are stupid? CJ is having his career-best year, Mayo is having his career-worst year, and the stats are pretty close. I say CJ+ we acquire a 1st rounder somehow should get the deal done.

Pass the Mayo.

I would love to get Mayo on the team.
I have not watched him play much, so this is just based on numbers.
How does he move without the ball, can he shoot off of screens?
How is he defensively?

Maybe Mayo is not playing as well as CJ right now, but I'd be willing to bet just about anything that Mayo will end up being a far superior player than CJ.

Here's the bigger question, think KOC and Jerry would do this trade?

I don't think so.

I think OJ Mayo would work well in the Jazz's system if he's coachable. I think the front office would be into it, especially if D.Will was in favor of the move. Miles is worth keeping though. A guy who can come in and give instant offense off the bench is an important part of a contending team. Miles' game is still opening up too. I'm wondering if the Jazz could move Okur in a three-way deal. I'm surprised the Grizz are playing OJ behind Henry.

Philadelphia and Toronto might be willing to move players.

The reason why Mayo comes off the bench is that during recent seasons, Memphis bench has always been league's one of the weakest. I'm not stating that Mayo off the bench experiment has payed dividends but it's still work in progress.

IMO Mayo is a far superior shooter than CJ. He is overall a more skilled player offensively.

But because of his size 6'4" he is a below average defender. He is also not a point guard. So he is stuck as an undersized shooting guard. He probably would be deadly coming off of screens.

CJ by contrast is an average defender and has proven to a solid rebounder this season. I would rate CJ as superior around the hoop because of size and strength.

Also CJ makes significantly less than OJ Mayo.

Thabeet would be very interesting to add to this team. IMO he has superior shotblocking and mobility to Fess. His post game is terrible but his free throw shooting and jumper are better than Fess's.

But I just checked and his contract is bad.

So probably no thanks to both.

Dont forget he was picked 2nd. Did you see Thabeet in the D-League or something? That is about the only time he has played. I would probably take Fes even if they made the same amount of money. Good point another issue with Mayo is that he is a tweener. Trading CJ for him means we would have only one 3 ready to play in the NBA.
