What's new

Time to step up Jazzfanz....

In reading through a lot of the recent threads it seems like a lot of the readers never wanted the Jazz to sign Boozer, Korver, Fes, or even Matthews. I for one am glad to see Boozer leave but really wanted Korver and Matthews(please keep this guy Jazz!!) to stay around mostly so the Jazz don't lose all of their talent and become the Heat of the East (but with only 1 all star) a team with a ton of MLE guys and no other great players.

So Jazzfanz, who do the Jazz go after? Since a lot of you don't want any of the current players who fills the holes? I am not trying to piss anyone off, but I really am curious who you would go after, not dream for but who you really think the Jazz should get .

Shaq. Then use the TPE Okafor. Neither of which will happen.

I like Okafor I think. I didn't see him play last year - didn't watch any NO games, but I remember in years past wishing the Jazz could trade Boozer for him since he's a much better defender and plays the 5.

I doubt NO would give us Okafor for the trade exception ... and not sure we would want that contract even if they did.

Boy, im really motivated to step it up now and give my useless opinion of who I think the Jazz should sign.

Who will our true outside threat be? Wes? (please keep him!) Deron is a good 3pt shooter but he is our PG, we need a true pure shooter. Unless CJ and Wes step up and hit more, we are now out our deep threat to spread the floor. I will remain a bit optimistic that Wes will improve and be more consistent but he is a lot more known now and that could prove to bring his numbers down.

Hayward, duh.

Hopefully the Jazz turn into major players this season when the trade deadline approaches. Hopefully it won't be too late by then record wise. We have a lot of bargaining chips to play with now with the trade exceptions and AK's expiring. It's up to KOC and company to make something great happen though and quit settling for status quo.

Wow, sounds like you've been shooting up with that latest batch of uptimism going around.

People that spout off about the Jazz being "major players" and "settling for the status quo" never recognize the subtle moves that the Jazz make in trying to improve the team each year.

It's always about getting this player or getting that player ... usually throwing out names that the Jazz will never get.

Management will never get any credit for letting go of the right players for the right price. Finding great players where other teams weren't able to and turning them into contributers for a reasonable salary. Or, even letting a great player go because they simply can't cripple the team financially for one player.

It's always about the draft pick we couldn't get instead of the one we were able to get. It's about failure to move up in the draft, not about the fact that no one was able to move up in the draft.

It about focusing on failures and ignoring our successes. It's about sticking with the status quo and never about being unwilling to make a bad move just to make a move.

A lot of people think the management sucks and will take every opportunity to throw in their passive aggressive jab at how they do business. I think their record speaks for itself. There are a lot of teams that have never gotten all the pieces together to get a championship in this league. There are not a lot of teams that deliver winning teams year after year regardless of the quality of players they are able to draft and attract as free agents. Keep up the good work, Jazz!
