Time to trade millsap

If Paul continues to improve his shooting, I'm all for keeping him at the 3. I wouldn't mind trading him, but only if we received a player who will make a larger impact.

I would trade him and another minor asset for someone like Granger, but no rush to get rid of him. Sap is a damn good player on an even better contract. Don't send him out for peanuts!

So we have 96 minutes between the PF and Center position.

Jefferson: 35 minutes last year
Millsap: 34 minutes last year

That leaves 26 minutes between Kanter, Favors and Okur? Do you guys honestly think that is ok?

Lets say Millsap can play 10 minutes per game at the SF position like some people think he can (I personally don't think he can consistently do that each game).

That gives 36 minutes between 3 players.

So we are going to give 12 minutes each to Kanter, Favors and Okur............ Great idea! Lets just have them ride the bench. That will totally develop them.

Lets also just say Okur never comes back and his career really is over. so that will give Favors and Kanter 18 minutes a game each....... Really? Its a joke.

And if your a person who says we can lower Millsaps minutes. Well your just going to lower his trade value more than it is. We might as well trade him now while his trade value is high. His trade value won't be going up after next year.

TT brings up a good point, but I think the Jazz give Millsap 20 min a game at SF. He has earned the right to audition for it.

There is a difference between stat stuffer and best player. Good players = wins. Jefferson does not.

No, good TEAMS equal wins. Last year, we did not have a good team. Jefferson was the only person keeping us afloat for a good while there. Sap had his strokes of genius, which makes him a perfect sixth man, but if it weren't for AJ we would have finished much worse. Don't blame Jefferson for the colossal collapse that took place last season.

Keep in mind that not every player plays every game. Therefore we really have more than that available. If, for example, the players play an average of 74 games instead of 82 games then we basically have an extra 10 minutes per game to go around.

A bunch of band aid solutions for Millsap? C'mon now. Millsap is a great player, you don't trade him unless you get a clear cut SF fringe all star, like Granger.

Understand undersize PF's are not that valuable around the league. understand the value of him. Not how we value him but how the league values him. The league isn't in need of more scoring PF's. Its very common. So teams don't see the point in giving up fringe all-stars when they already have a decent PF. They know there PF might not be as good as Millsap. But they also know they aren't upgrading the talent level of the team that much because they gave away good talent for the same talent when they already had someone that can do 75% of what Millsap does.

Doesn't matter either way. Prospects learn from CONSISTENT playing time. Not play 25 minutes 1 night than play 7 minutes the next night. It just confuses them and they never get settled into a role. They are being thrown into the fire multiple times while there confidence drops.
