To the "we're better without Conley" crew

I'm trying to think what Lamarcus Aldridge would look like next to Gobert. There's a puncher's chance that San Antonio would move him. He only has 2 years on his deal. He's 34 though.

No team is going to take Conley off our hands unless we pay for his entire salary/contract! They all got eyes and can see Conley has played his better games in the past and would be a waste of money, and roster space.

We don't have the assets and it's a very poor fit.

Sixers fans not into Horford. Conley for Horford?

I mentioned this on December 7th on JF. @Saint Cy of JFC tweeted about it two days ago like it was some original idea because he saw Horford is unhappy there.

Horford is cooked. He sucks. Now maybe it’s just a complete unhappiness thing and he’s not remotely trying or motivated but I doubt it. It’s not worth the risk imo given his contract.

I’ll put it another way. My buddy’s a Sixers fan. He watches all their games and I doubt has missed more than 3 or 4 games this season. He wants him gone. For anything. Literally any contract in the league.

That's one hell of a single game highlight reel!

Thriller says that the Jazz should spend 30 million a year for a back up?

how did you come away with this idea? Did you even read what I posted in post 69 once details of his age and contract were flushed out? It helps to read what people actually write:

Age is definitely a concern. But Horford is a 7 footer and doesn’t have the injury history as the shorter Klove, right?

All I’m saying is that I’d consider this trade. I hate how Gobert is our only big. If he goes down to injury, we’re dead. We desperately need another center. Not sure if I’d pull the trigger though. Paying Horford big bucks to essentially be Favors seems idiotic.

If Horford is 'cooked' I don't even want to know what Conley is. Horford has played decently in Philly by any stat you care to look at and has shown the ability to still turn it way up on defense.

There are players I'd rather have, but I'm trying to limit myself to guys who may realistically be traded. Horford vs Love I pretty clearly prefer Horford's health history and defense at the 5. Aldridge is not even in the discussion, that guy is actually cooked, zero defense at this point in his career and much more limited to the 5 spot.
