To win or not to win @ GS - dilemma

I thought Aaron Gordon was already playing in the Nba for the Kings.

I say if there is a chance to stick it to the Warriors then stick it to the warriors. My suffering as a jazz fan is eased a bit if I can watch the warriors suffer too.

If you are trying to say Gordon is like D Williams that is a really bad comp bro.

I can see the argument against Gordon for sure, but his game aint like DWill's.

You want to trade two young lottery Players with ALL-Star Potential + two lottery picks, for one lottery TOP 3 Pick in the next years draft ? This could be a very big steal for the opponent. If the next years draft is really that deep and strong, than you could easily pick an All-Star Type of Player from the 7th or 8th spot.

If Kanter and Burks are reaching their ceiling playing for the opponent with a good coach and If you pick a bust at top 3, which is kind of possible, If you consider that Darko Milicic was picked above Anthony, Wade, Bosh, Kaman and West in the 2003 draft.
Than you would kill all the future plans of this franchise for the next 6-7 years.

Absolutely. No team has won a title without a hall of famer. I want to win a title. I would trade everyone not named Favors to move up to #1. Give me Favors, the #1 pick and a bunch of one year deals with some savy vets thrown in and I'll win a title before a team full of Burke, Hayward, Kanter, Burks, the #7 pick and the #14 pick.

I'll answer your question with another question.

What if on the day of the NBA Draft you decide to clean your pet turtle's tank, so you take him out of the tank and put him in the bathtub. After you finish cleaning the tank you return to the bath tub but the turtle is gone. To whom do you make your first phone call and do you still want the #7 pick?

Wow, tough call.

A loss in this tank race has much more value than a loss in Golden State's playoff race. To miss the playoffs, three teams have to pass GS (Phx, Dal, Mem). Winning at GS would hurt our tank whle likely making little difference in GSW's playoff battle.

I know the OP is posing a hypothetical question, but if the Jazz don't take their tank seriously, they could end up 9th or 10th, not 7th in the lotto seeding. The Knicks, Pelicans and Nuggets are losing a lot of games right now.

See I didn't even know they could jump high. I thought the knock on both of them was they were both 3/4 tweeners. Sorry to derail the thread, I'll go check out the draft thread.

Tweener is overused word IMO.

Still don't consider Williams a tweener, just think he has been misused his entire career as a SF. He has enough size to be a PF. 6'9 with a 9' standing reach. His main problems where that he wasn't a very good defender, and developed a bad shot selection in attempt to be a SF w/ the Wolves.

Gordon is a very good defender, has a good frame (yes, he is skinny right now, but he has a frame that can add strength), is extremely athletic, wants to defend, has a great handle, has great intangibles, etc. He pretty much has everything besides shooting and sub-par offensive touch.

His biggest concern is his horrendous FT shooting, but his form doesn't appear to be broken (like a MKG or Brewer). He actually shoot 3's though (not a lot, but will take them in rhythm if he is open) and he does hit them (32% on 1 attempt per game). He also doesn't finish as well as you would think around the rim.

He has gotten better as of late though. His last 6 games he has been averaging 15 points per game, and that is with an outlier performance of 3 points vs. Utah. If he could ever develop a jump shot that would approach a Marvin-level, he would be great because of his ability to defend the post and perimeter.

GSW's schedule isn't very bad from here on out and they've got more home games vs. away. Unless you see Curry go down with vaginaitis, I don't think they could be overtaken by both Memphis and Minny.

It's Dallas and Phoenix that need to keep up, along with Memphis continuing to climb.
