And we gutted our assets to get Conley.Oh but it is. Harris is just entering his prime, Conley will be falling off a cliff by year 2.

Why the **** is this a reason to devote eight figures to him?Such crazy talk in here.
Favors minutes were reduced to keep him healthy throughout the year. Because he played basically three years in a row were too many minutes meant that he would be injured by the end of the year.
So, Gobert or no Gobert, Favors is on a permanent minutes restriction for the rest of his career. This is a big part of why he wants to stay in Utah. His body is being managed appropriately here.
This is not that complicated. Furthermore, the best offense beats the best defense every time, and at a certain point we need to be able to keep up with teams that don’t care about Gobert because they do so well spacing the floor and are perfectly comfortable bombing away all game.Lineup data suggest that we were better with Joe Johnson and Gobert on the floor together when Johnson was here than Gobert and Favors. Johnson wasn't any good on D but our defense was still fine when he was on the floor and our offense was much better. And Tobias is much better than Johnson was at that stage of his career.
Why the **** is this a reason to devote eight figures to him?
Crowder and gobert played with Rubio too doe.
Also it's quite telling that favors played 23 minutes per game. Quin an idiot apparently.
Also telling that freaking grandpa Joe Johnson was better next to gobert than favors.
The part about favors being better than gobert doesn't really matter cause gobert is our center.

Except in Golden State to win rings, or Stockton to sign Malone. Or Gobert. He’s from NY... it isn’t just us vs. Philly it’s Brooklyn (maybe) at full max... Indiana at full max, Dallas at full max or Utah and 20M less...
If he isn’t into the status of being a max free agent then the money may not matter as much but in general dudes don’t take pay cuts... even small ones.
That is stupid. Plain and simple. It sure as **** ain’t. But Favors’ cachet with the Jazz isn’t a simple matter of his production and usage. They love him.
I said literally impossible to know because it is literally impossible to know. That's not my opinion, it's a fact.No offense, but I don't agree.
Harris is a good player, one I want, but he's not on the same level as Conley. Conley legitimately doesn't have a weakness. He's above average in every facet of the game for a PG. It's a position that we desperately needed an upgrade at, especially in regards of shooting. Plus it allows Mitchell to take his time developing as a lead guard. Come playoff time having a PG who can run an offense in any situation is way more important than Harris without a PG on Conley's level.

If we could play next season with Conley then go back in a time machine and play the season again with Harris then we might know.
But that would be the only way

It is almost unbelievable that the Jazz are paying ~$27 million to two guys that can’t shoot the three, and are either perpetually injured or on permanent minutes restriction. The only thing more unbelievable than that is that these players have loyalists.
The Jazz need to waive Favors, and if there’s a way to let someone else take the reigns with the Dante Exum experiment that doesn’t cost a heavy amount of assets, the Jazz need to do that, too.
If they do that, they can make a reasonable pitch to Harris. If he doesn’t sign then; oh no, the Jazz are already dark horse contenders in what is likely to be a wide-open field and would have nearly $30 million to go shopping.
