Tobias Harris wants to come to utah

I guess it's possible for us to trade Exum to Philly AFTER they renounce Harris but BEFORE they re-sign Bulter to a max and re-sign Redick to whatever he gets.

If they have the cap space after renouncing Harris, sure. But keep in mind capholds. I'm not sure it would work like that and I doubt Philly would do us a solid like that even it it could.

If we traded for Tobias, would we be the best team in the history of the NBA with zero All Star appearances?

Abso-friggin'-lutely.

Yeah, it's very unlikely. If Harris says he's definitely walking, they renounce him and they got money. Embiid and Simmons account for less then $40 combined. It would have to be because they really want Exum.

This is a good point. I suspect Zanik and O'Connor have tied up Lindsey in the basement of Vivant with the Gimp and are working the phones to get something done. If Utah can flip an Exum and Favors (not picking up the TO or part of a trade) for Harris with reasonable assurances from both sides? You do that yesterday. If for no other reason than we have the start of a #HeadbandBrotherhood.

OR....

5-all-stars GSW won't make the playoffs and HOU is a mess next season, so finally there's an opportunity to win it all. DL has been patiently waiting for this moment against clueless fans' "do something, just anything" approach.

So hypothetically if we never did the conley trade what did the jazz have to do (give up) to be able to acquire Harris in free agency assuming he wanted to come here?

I'm an idiot when it comes to contracts but what is the luxury tax? Would it kill us to spend a big amount of money for a season or two?

It would still likely be the same situation. Utah gave up players that were under contract next year. With cap and contract values for next year, it doesn't change overly much. If the cap by some miracle comes in higher than anticipated, that would only be a bonus for Utah in this situation.

I don't have time to keep up with this **** anymore. If this were to happen, when would it get done?
